I'm looking for friends to go backcountry skiing with (Mt. Baldy, San Gorgonio, Sierra Nevada, Mt. Shasta, etc.), mostly on weekends. I am relatively experienced and know some of the SoCal and Sierra mountains; you should be at least intermediate (typical vertical gain 3000 or more feet/day) and have backcountry gear (or telemark if you're good at it). I'm trying to get some people together to play basketball at least once a week. I'd like to play on a set day every week, either on Saturday or Sunday. Ideally, this will happen consistently on the same day, same place, and same time every week. I want it to get to the point where people just show up without having to tell them in advance. Hello all. I'm a recent transplant from SF looking to keep up my martial arts game by practicing with some other internal martial artists. I find that push hand like practice helps refine my skills more quickly than any other form of practice, so I'm seeing if anyone else in the area is looking to do some practice. Ideally getting a group together would be ideal to get a broader range of styles and body mechanics to work with.

My background started off in N. Shaolin for about 5 years, than meandered through the Xing Yi, and Ba Gua, finally landing in the Javanese internal style of Serak.

I'm looking for anyone, of any style (the more styles the merrier) who wants to get together a few times throughout the week to practice.
I work freelance, and the schedule's a bit sporadic, but I'm setting a personal commitment of getting in at least 2 practices a week. I've got plenty of space to practice where I'm at, with 1 indoor, and several outdoor options.
I can also travel if it's more convenient to meet elsewhere.
No egos, just good hearted study of body mechanics.

Hey, you know that goofy sport in the Olympics where they slide big rocks down the ice and try to land in the target while simultaneously taking out the other team's rocks? Weird, right? But fun too!
Come learn how tonight with the Hollywood Curling Club's Open House. We'll teach all beginners the basics of curling and having you practicing in no time. It's not nearly as hard as you might think and all of our instructors are volunteers who just love the sport.
6:30 tonight at the Valley Ice Center. 8750 Van Nuys Blvd., Panorama City, CA 91402. There is a small charge for ice and equipment rental, but no more than a movie ticket.

This unique workout combines the best qualities of a traditional tennis lesson, cardio tennis and a hitting partner. You & I will play competitively in a real game environment where we keep score and play full sets.

My job is not to blow the ball by you. I will seek to improve your game by placing the ball in challenging spots that you can get to. We'll work on your speed, strength, and stamina - the three most important attributes that define any athlete. You're guaranteed a great, heart pumping, one hour cardio workout and the opportunity to work on every stroke in the game, including all of the groundstrokes, variations of the volley, and the serve.

My goal is to turn that high backhand into a work of art and for you to feel the overwhelming sense of accomplishment upon hitting the perfect backhand on the dead run just once. I'll also stop the action periodically to give you tips on your stroke and other useful corrections to work on and think about while playing. It's a great way for both men and women of all ages and abilities to learn and play the game.

If you have a court, I'll come to you; if you don't have access to a court, I will try to make arrangements to use one at a convenient location for you. Dana Dane Tennis is based in West Hollywood, and provides services to Beverly Hills, Bel-Air, Brentwood, Santa Monica, Encino, Studio City as well as other areas of Los Angeles. If you don't own a racquet, I always have an assortment of quality brands and sizes for you to try.

I'm trying to start a group/club for day hiking in the Santa Monica mountains: Franklin Canyon, Sullivan, Mandeville, Rogers, Rivas, Rustic, Temescal, Los Liones, Malibu, etc. SMMC and Sierra Club have too few hikes and too little variety on the west side.

Hikes would be mostly 6-10 miles with 1,000-2,000 foot elevation gain at a net pace of roughly 2-1/2 MPH. Target would be to have at least 2 hikes each week, generally starting around 9:00. Most hikes take 3-5 hours. People interested should be able to maintain a moderate pace, own lug soles, carry the ten basics, be safety conscious, and and be pleasant. No whiners! People should want to hike at least 1/week. Members would share their favorite hikes, and be willing to lead from time to time.

I'm 65 (m,w, retired), and was one of the organizers seven years ago of a hiking club in the desert that now has over 500 members and does at least 40 hikes/month in season. Most hikes attract 8-15 people. Age, gender, orientation, status (marital, social, and financial), origin are all completely irrelevant! Just love nature and love to hike!

I have decided to just go for it... I need to be in the entertainment field. I must or I will go crazy! No more dead-end 9-5 jobs for me. I want to find more from "somewhere out on that horizon."

I want to begin with acting and dancing. To practice these two disciplines makes sense. One must show talent. If you are interested in "bouncing off" ideas with me, such as doing scenes, then maybe we can work together. I prefer a female partner because I am tired of explaining to men that I am not gay. I am serious, too. It's my life. Time isn't in permanent supply for anyone. Be 21 and over. If you need to think about this, then it may not be for you. It does not need to take a lot of time, either.
