The Program Worker will facilitate recreation, education, and/or enrichment at our Palmdale After School program site.
Description of Duties
•To design, plan, and facilitate activities with groups of children.
•To advise the Site Coordinator as to what supplies, materials, and other forms of support are needed for activities.
•To implement program's best practices after school model.
•To supervise all program participants to ensure a safe and organized program.
•To assist with the planning and facilitation of special projects and events.
•To assist with the recruitment and retention of program participants.
•To attend staff development trainings and workshops.
•To perform other duties as assigned.
Professional Qualifications
•Desire to work with children and youth.
•Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with Hope Through Housing staff, parents, and community.
•Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with Hope Through Housing and National CORE staff, public officials, private sector officials, parents, and community leaders.
•Ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate sensitivity to others.
•Excellent organizational skills.
Other Requirements
•Ability to speak and write in Spanish is preferred.
•Ability to work 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
•Willing to work evenings and Saturdays as required.
•Willing to travel to off-site meetings, trainings, and events.
•Must be 18 years or older.
•Ability to pass TB skin test, drug test and background check.
