Tutors needed in various parts of Lancaster to tutor students grade K-12 in English Language Arts or Math. Candidates MUST have at least a Bachelor's degree, and be able to travel to the student's home or local library to tutor.

Candidate should be reliable, enjoy working with children (most children in this program are from low-income families, and usually live in low-income neighborhoods), have strong communication skills, and are committed to educating and motivating young students. Candidates should also have consistent access to the internet, be able to follow directions, and be very organized with necessary paper works. Reliable transportation is required.

Previous tutoring or teaching experience helpful, but not required. BILINGUAL (SPANISH/ENGLISH) IS A BIG PLUS, but not required. Candidates with Special Education experience also highly desired. Fingerprint, background checks, and TB test are required. Candidate should be able to commit for at least 6 months. Current school teachers or substitute teachers are welcome to apply.

Tutors can choose their own flexible tutoring schedules, choose the geographical area(s) of tutoring (tutoring sessions usually take place near tutor's home, work, or school!), and work with the same students on a weekly basis. Tutoring sessions are usually available after school on weekdays, and anytime on weekends.

Dance teacher for an exciting after school program (Palmdale)

Are you responsible, reliable, creative, energetic, a self starter, a team player, and most importantly do you love to work with children?

If the answer is yes, we�d like you to join our team.
Carney Educational Services is seeking a dance teacher for one of our after school programs in the Antelope Valley area. (Palmdale and East Palmdale).
Our teachers ensure academic and social development of students participating in our program. Our teachers also provide engaging lessons, homework help, and exciting enrichment activities.

We are looking for candidate who will commit to the school year. Please keep in mind this is a seasonal position to June 2010.

QUALIFICATIONS include;

1-2 years of previous experience working with elementary (ages 5-10) and/or middle school (ages11-14) students.
Candidate MUST have 48 college credits with transcripts or preferably an AA/BA degree.
Available a minimum of three hours a day Monday-Friday. Must be able to work Monday-Friday. All programs run until 6:00pm. Start times will vary at each school site.
Bi-lingual a plus
District employees are encouraged to apply!!!
Tested on Math and English skills.
Fingerprint clearance and negative TB test is required prior to hire. CPR and first aid certified is a plus.
Dependable.
Reliable transportation.
Professional appearance.
Able to handle conflict within the classroom.
Excellent communication skills.
Dedicated to the well being of children.

REQUIREMENTS include;

Manage a classroom of 20 students.
Execute classroom management and structure throughout the program.
Develop and prepare creative lesson plans and curriculum.
Assist with academics and homework.
Instruct an enrichment class- DANCE!
Accurate in recordkeeping (time sheets and attendance sheets).
Communicate regularly with school staff and parents.
Pay $12.00/hr.
