Caring Foster Parents wanted for children up to 18 years of age.
We help with the Certification Process. Free Training Provided.
• Personal Income is required.
• Offices located in Los Angeles, Palmdale, Tustin, and Palm Springs
• We are a non-profit organization.
• We have bi-lingual (Spanish/English) staff.
The ages of the children placed ranges from birth through 17 years, all are referred by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services.
Optimist is licensed by the State of California Department of Social Services to
recruit, train, and certify foster parents. Our trained social workers provide ongoing
support to our families and the children. This is done through regular visits and an
on call system that makes services available twenty- four hours a day seven days
a week. In addition social work staff compile comprehensive treatment plans,
monthly reports, and referrals for outside services when necessary. We currently serve
over 100 children a day with offices in Los Angeles County, Orange County, and Riverside County and have served well over 5000 children in loving and caring foster homes since 1993.
All Optimist foster parents receive at least 30 hours of formalized training as well
as certification for first aid and CPR. In addition we provide some financial assistance
to aid foster parents in caring for the children.
Some of the basic requirements are to be age 21 and over
Room in your home for no more than 2 children per bedroom
No more than 6 children in a home, including your own children
Reliable Car, Car Insurance, and a Clean Driving Record
Everyone age 18+ living in the home must have a clean criminal record
Stable Income
Ability to provide quality care for children 24 hours a day
