Unlike other places you may go to for adoptions. My home is very clean, smells GOOD and the kittens are not kept in cages for display. The downstairs has been turned into an African Jungle Room and they even have an enclosed deck to play outside!

This sweet kitty is named PEACHES because of her cream-colored fur.

She was rescued outside of the animal shelter parking lot. She was dumped there by people who didn�t even bother to take her inside where at least it was safe from cars. It was very difficult for us to catch her. Luckily we did before she was run over. She is a nice, playful kitty about 1 - 1/2 years old and she gets along well with other cats or could go to a nice home by herself.

PEACHES is spayed, fully vaccinated for 1 year, de-wormed, de-flead, examined by a vet and tested negative for FeLV/FIV and nails are kept trimmed.

Adoption fees are $95 for adult cats and these fees will cover medical costs.

I also give you a gift bag full of, toys, the 1st day of food, medical charts and valuable kitty information to take home for your new pet.

RIO is an awesome brown tabby/maine coon mix and he is about 1 1/2 years old. Rio loves to get brushed and will even fetch the brush and his favorite toys for you to play with him. He must have been a dog in his past life! He is a loving cat and does great with other cats, but would need to be adopted with a kitty friend from the Kat House. He is not suited for a home with children due to past experience of them pulling his long fluffy tail.

These sweet kittens are Easter and Paulina

EASTER is gray and white and she got her name because she was rescued at 2 days old on Easter Morning! She is one of my FAVORITE KITTENS EVER! Easter is known by my friends as the Kissing Kitten! She loves to give you sweet kisses on the face! She is about 4 months old and a wonderful little girl that you will absolutely love.

PAULINA was rescued at about 2 weeks and she is the pretty calico 3 months old. She is a delicate princess with the softest fur ever. She will be a small kitty when she grows up. Both kittens would love to be adopted together or with another friend here at the Kat House. They get along well with other cats.

I would love to record, but I don't play instruments (except the hand drums) and I don't have original songs yet (but I can write the lyrics)...I don't really know anyone in the industry out here, but I would love to get connected now that I live in L.A. and move toward doing what I love in a bigger way.

I'm 30, a guy. A Christian who loves singing Christian music, but don't worry, I'm normal and I like singing pop, R&B, and a little Jazz/Soul/Blues. I'm the most laid-back uptight person you'll ever meet (LOL), and my "book of friends" is very diverse. I've got a smooth tone that can work with many genres and many other voices. I have a strong vocal background including acapella work, but I sing every week at church with a band and really love working with musicians. (Plus it keeps me in-practice.)

But I don't yell, and I don't sound like Creed or swallow my words to sound cool. My favorite thing about music is the words, and I want them to be heard. My range is pretty above average, including a strong falsetto with comfortable transitions, when needed. I love singing WITH others (both women and men) and improvising parts, but I am very confident as a lead singer if I know the song.

Female fronted symphonic metal: need guitar, bass, keys (The Valley)

New female-fronted symphonic metal band seeks 2nd guitarist, bass, and keyboardist. What your absolute favorite kind of metal is doesn't matter so much, but you should appreciate bands like Nightwish, After Forever, Epica, Within Temptation, Therion, and Amberian Dawn. What we want to do is put an American spin on the epic-melodic European metal sound.

Ideally you understand that melodic metal in Europe attracts a very different crowd than the usual metal scene in the States, and you want to bring some class to metal in the LA area. We want to look and sound polished, so we can start opening up for the melodic bands from Europe when they come into town. (You can always be a Satan Worshipping Scumdog in your other bands.) The leading melodic bands from Europe are generally good looking, talented people. We want to show them that LA can compete.

So far we have a drummer and singer, and I'm a guitarist. Singer is in her later 20s, and the drummer and I are in our earlier 30s. We're all a bit rusty compared to when we practiced constantly as younger musicians. We have 2 or 3 decent originals so far, that need a band together to evolve them into something better. We also are working on some covers in the symphonic genre so as to be a good opening act.

Here's what we're looking for, in order of importance:

- Nice talent
- Nice personality
- Nice tone
- Nice gear

For guitarists, it would be nice if you can share lead guitar duties, as I love the dual guitar attack a la Priest, Maiden, etc. One thing I have never seen in a symphonic band is high quality 2-guitar lead tradeoffs. However, this is *not* required. It would be enough if you can hold down solid rhythms, while sounding and looking good. I'd say it's more important that you like melodic metal and the European sound. Yes, the music can be cheesy, but it's also fun and becoming more popular.

We also have an opening for a keyboardist and bass player. We'd prefer at least one of these roles be female as well, but it is not essential. We'd also like the bass player to be able to handle the "growly" vocals, so we can pair you up with the lead singer for the classic beauty-and-the-beast formula. And if you're a keyboardist who happens to be able to growly vocals, that's fine too. The keyboardist is key to the epic sound by doing choir and string backgrounds, and in a perfect world, is technical enough to do solo tradeoffs with the guitars. We're not going to be a prog band but there's the right amount of spice that should be added to this dish.

If you're in music school and looking for something a little fresher and less academic, this could be a good opportunity for you. We have our own talent and resources and can help you get exposure.

From our point of view, there isn't much in LA in terms of female-fronted symphonic metal, and what exists seems not anywhere near as epic as it could be. Most of us work in software, so this is a creative outlet for us that could become serious if it wants to, but really this is more about having fun, because we just happen to be talented enough and can afford to do it. We are serious enough to rent a rehearsal space with every intention to start gigging once we are ready. We are not a cover band but will do a handful of covers early on to help us get started.

Your age is not important as long as you're not a minor. Generally you will need your own transportation, though if you happen to live close to someone else in the band, and were a particularly good fit, we could make an exception and carpool.

Anyway, if this ad speaks to you, and you know your way around the world of metal, hit us up and send me your myspace or some other recording of your work. And tell me about your gear. It can be a total demo, don't even worry about that. I'm a good judge of talent and attitude.

Jack and Pearl were tiny bottle babies when they were first rescued and spent the entire first year of their life together in a wonderful home....however, the owner brought them back to Kitten Rescue after a year due to a roommate situation. These pictures were taken the day Jack & Pearl were returned. The foster mom's home is FULL of kittens and cats, so we had to put the Jack and Pearl in a cage at PETSMART. :(

Jack is a gorgeous tuxedo & his sister Pearl is a beautiful black female with a little white on her neck. This brother & sister could not be more loving. Situation:
Current net worth
Bank account = zero; wallet = zero; friends and family = zero.

Home has become a daily rental when there is enough money; cupboards are bare, lucky to enjoy the $1 fast food value menu; gas tank is near empty, registration has lapsed, insurance cancelled unable to cure an inexpensive safety violation, engine is overheating and brake fluid is leaking; phone, my lifeline, is on its last extension, 2-months past due; storage, the entire contents of my home from the day I was born, currently locked out and set for a potential lien sale; and so on. I no longer have credit nor the ability to maintain a bank account 9even with money).

Soon it will all be gone if I do not immediately find a way to prevent it from occuring, and daily I face being homeless on the street.

What Happened:
I have been consumed with civil litigation for several years having hired the wrong attorney causing my disposition. I have moneys to be obtained through the litigation, but none that I wait for nor will happen overnight. In the meantime my time is consumed by the court battles and my thriving to survive on a daily basis preventing me from being available for full time employment.

What's Happening:
Most people I have known for many years have become alienated for all the problems brought into my life or do not or cannot understand my overflowing plate; others misjudge assuming what one should be and why who is in this disposition.

Through this time I fight to maintain my dignity and be the person who I am whether I ate today or had a safe and or comfortable place to sleep, and shower. Now I look before me to swee the reality of today that everything is so out of control, I may soon wake up to everything being gone, having nothing left whatsover. Many are only material things but are important to me for many reasons; others are necessity as housing, food, and transportation.

What to do:
If time prevailed and the current obstacles were limited or reduced, I could source ways to find income even if small, yet enough to survive and not to lose what is all important to me. But, time no longer prevails and with no one and no where to turn to at this point, how can I survive and make it out of this before all is gone?

Help Needed:
Can anyone share with me some helpful insight, some sage advice and or wisdom, or even point me in the right direction to seek a miracle or two?

Lead/rhythm guitarist with 20 years experience seeks cover band, for good times and good gigs. I can join one, or we can start one. All I ever seem to hear is people talking shit on covers, but as a former violinist, I know for a fact that's pretty much all the orchestra ever plays. I also find it interesting that people who hate playing covers tend to be people who can't learn or play difficult material... which means originals are a copout in that sense; assuming decent accuracy and confidence, nobody can really say you're doing it wrong if you are introducing them to the song.

I'd most like a metal cover band, but are there any serious ones in LA? I want to find/start one badly enough to have recorded a few covers myself to give a taste of what I can do:

The above are classics from Candlemass and Paradise Lost. In addition to playing guitars and bass, I programmed the drums and keyboards, and brought in friends for the vocals.

In terms of bands, I like blackmetal, doom, and 90s deathmetal. I also like some euro-prog and female fronted, and I occasionally do sessions outside metal. I'm pretty diverse, but it must be top quality wherever possible. I like catchy, heavy, intense, melodic music, and I choose good taste over extremity. I learn by ear and very quickly, if I might add.

In fact, I would even join a completely non-metal cover band (70s art-rock or any classic 80s awesomeness). Also.... if your band is really great and happens to not be a cover band, I could be convinced to join if you are skilled and I really dig the songs. Regardless of genre. That said I'm also prepared to let this ad run for months. I'm not in a hurry and I'm not desperate.

Gearwise, I have a 5150 w/ fresh Eurotubes hi-gain retube kit. My live guitars are vintage Fernandes and Greco, plus vintage and new Steinbergers. Live rack gear includes Eventide, Lexicon, and Line6, so I can hold my own in rehearsal or stage with a real amp, as well as plug directly into the club's PA at a gig and ditch mics completely. (I sold the ESP in the below picture.)

I am earlier-30s with a stable career and don't drink much, though occasionally I like to cut loose. I have my own car.

What I want:

- Excellent repertoire
- Making it look easy
- Sharp timing and dynamics
- A sense of humor
- Polished sound and look
- Interpretation

What I avoid:

- Aging rocker dudes with biological clocks ticking ever faster
- Loudness over tone and talent
- Band politics and general douchebaggery
- Knee-jerk Satan worshipping
- Long-term plans for world domination (touring)
- Improvisation

I'm also helping a friend start a female-fronted symphonic metal band, so you might see my ad for that on here as well. Covers are like training wheels for that project, though, and since multiple members are needed there, I have no idea what will actually happen. So I can't just limit myself... if I'm going to get out there and play, I want to have an ad just for me because above all else I want there to be a good match. Besides, it's not like a person can only be in one band!

I must also really want to spend the time it takes to gel as a group and prepare for *quality* gigs. Basically, I know I have the skills to really help the right band add some polish, but it's not worth my time if the people are dicks/rushed/arrogant/unrealistic about what it takes to do it well. I'd rather not do it at all, or at least keep rehearsing, if we can't reasonably expect to nail this.

If you'd like to audition me, give me a few songs and a week or two to prepare. PLEASE NOTE: Before I accept your audition, I'll want to hear some sort of recording where I can hear your skills. I don't care how grainy or lo-fi your recording is because the underlying talent always shines through.

Do you wanna get in shape and do something different for the summer? Then put on the gloves and try boxing.

Based on your fitness level, we'll go for 8 rounds (30 minutes), 10 rounds (40 minutes), 12 rounds (50 m) or 15 rounds (60 m non-stop). Each round is followed by a 30 seconds or one-minute break. I design the workout based on how real boxers train, so it's quite challenging. But for beginners, I will break down the basics before every workout - like stance, punches, hip rotation, footwork and all.

For the time being, I train people at Wild Card Boxing in Hollywood. I also make house-calls time to time.

The tempo of the workout is fast and intense. But we'll set the pace at your level of fitness and desire. Most of all, you'll definitely get a workout and have fun doing it.

Everyone wants to sing...now EVERYONE CAN !!!

The voice teaching system is corrupted by a Blind-guiding-the-Blind method, and it�s been like this for a long time.

The fact that we cant see what occurs when we sing and that we can�t even feel what we�re doing when we�re singing, has led to the most diverse dissertation on the subject.

It has been going on for centuries, analyzing great voices and trying to �figure out�...how they do it!!!

Well one thing is a Great Natural Singer...we all know them. These would be your Donny Hathaway, Freddie Mercury, Stevie or Michael, Pavarotti-Corelli-Caruso-Gigli, Whitney, Chaka, Brian and many others.

If we�d would ask them...how do you do it? How can you hold a high note like that? Where�s your vibrato coming from? How come you don�t have any break between registers? It seems like you�re not straining that much...? Etc.etc.etc.

If we�d get each different answer and write them down, then analyze them and put them all together in a book, we would create a non-sequitur /non-working technique, with the most diverse opinions on �I feel like I push from my diaphragm� or �My voice is projected forward�, �I�m totally in the mask, that�s why I can hold it so long�, �it�s all because of my breathing�, �I�m pushing my voice from the back�, ...or the most intelligent would say..."I have no idea how I�m doing it�.

Well, to achieve results that were completely NATURAL GIFTS to begin with, we would then have a book that discusses all matters of singing based on opinions, on feelings on how certain sounds are created, with no further dissertation on its validity. Because the biggest problems in singing are that we can�t see what�s going on inside our throat, and furthermore we can�t even feel how anything is produced!!!

Hence a teaching system built on the analysis of existing voices and their opinions on ways of singing instead of researching the means, ways and causes of its source is not only limited and useless, but is doom to fail. As it has been for longer than anyone can keep track of.

So, if you ever think that maybe that lip roll, tongue roll, ney ney ney, bend over, push from your diaphragm, wiggle your jaw etc. etc. etc. doesn't really do it for you...or for anybody? And at the same time you where thinking, "well, he/she taught such and such, so it must be right...maybe it's just me, I'm not doing it right and I should go more often and give him/her more money"

Well, the last 13 years I went to a total of 7 of the �BEST� teachers in the world, from Italy to England to USA, spending a total of about $ 50,000 on something that just didn't work, to then finally learn and master the only singing technique that actually works.
From teachers at the Opera "La Scala� in Milan, to the London greatest and ALL the USA celebrity teachers...trust me, I�ve tried them ALL.

The voice teaching system is corrupted by a Blind-guiding-the-Blind method, and it�s been like this for a long time.
This technique was known to a certain degree by the Italians in the early Bel Canto age around the 1600 and on, and continued till the last great tenors of Caruso, Gigli, Del Monaco and Corelli.

The truth is that it all boils down to building your voice muscles, in one ONLY correct way.
There are specific and scientific exercises to develop particular muscles in your vocal folds, which are the basics for pitch problems, low resonance, break in the Passaggio (bridge) and power in your voice. Everything in the opposite of what is "usually taught" out there. All obtainable from everyone, like building a body...Let me repeat that, obtainable by anybody. This method fixes EVERYTHING!!! Even people that could never sing on pitch, can and will sing on pitch.

I will literally build your voice to do anything you want to do with it. Whether Rock, Pop, R&B or Opera, you�ll achieve the sound you�ve always dreamt of...or that sound you couldn't even dare dream of...

A couple weeks later, the daughter and her husband went to visit and find out how he was doing. The son-in-law asked, "How do you like it here? How's the food?

The Guy said, "I like it. This place is great. They have everything: Movies, music, pool tables, a swimming pool, and even a baseball diamond. Nobody here plays baseball, so the place lets little league use the diamond. We like to watch the kids play ball. One of the guys here has a grandson that plays. During the games, the kid's dad comes up in the stands, and brings us some weed. Then, when we get the munchies, the kitchen will cook us almost anything we want. The cooks are all 4 star chefs, and the food is wonderful. And sometimes, the local college jazz quartet comes out to play for us. They're hot.

The daughter asked, "How are the people? How are they treating you here?"

The guy answered, "The people are sooo- nice... And respectful. There's a retired doctor here. He hasn't practiced medicine for 20 years, and they still call him doctor. There's a retired misician here, that used to play violin in a symphony. He hasn't played violin for 18 years, and they call him maistro; And me... We need to band together to begin massive protests to show our disgust for how evil and corrupt our government has become. We all know the war in Iraq was a total blunder built on lies instigated by Bush and his rich Tycoon buddies to protect their oil empires and so he could make daddy proud. Not to secure lower oil prices for the US, but simply to get more profits for them and to actually boost the price up. That�s why the price of gas has more than tripled since Bush took over in 2001. No it�s not just a coincidence,

Now we�re in a recession and headed for a major depression much worse than in the 1930�s. because the cost of living is twenty times higher thanks to our goddamn government not controlling inflation., The current statistics on the unemployment rate is total bullshit. It only counts people actually collecting unemployment insurance. Because of the massive shortage of jobs a lot of people were never able to find jobs so when their unemployment ran out they were no longer counted. Many people have just given up because the job situation is so bad. The real rate of unemployment is somewhere between 15% and 20% and rising quickly.

There are many reasons for massive job losses everywhere but we all know the two main reasons are outsourcing and illegal immigration. Everyday thousands of Americans are losing their jobs, their life savings, their homes, everything they own and many are ending up in the streets (many have college degrees even) Our goddamn, fucking, piece of shit government doesn�t give a rats ass, They know their enormous pay and million dollar pensions are guaranteed. Instead of controlling inflation, They kick back and do nothing as prices skyrocket (Gas, Food, Utilities, Healthcare, Etc) All they do is laugh and vote themselves BIG pay raises instead of dealing with the problem. To top it off they encourage companies to outsource our jobs and even give them tax breaks to do it.

We have the most evil, the most vial, the most Goddamn corrupt government in this countries history. Congress and the rest of our government leaders are nothing but lying, rotten, hunks of human waist that don�t deserve to live on this planet. My wish is that they all contract a fatal disease and drop dead. That way they can all fuck each other in Hell instead of us paying them millions to fuck us and shit on us as a country.

We don�t need terrorists to destroy our economy and our way of life. Our pile of crap government is doing it for them,,,,

Adopt: Cantalope & Creamsicle - orange brother & sister kittens (Los Angeles)

CANTALOPE and CREAMSICLE are orange brother and sister kittens, rescued from a backyard/basement in East LA. They were feral but I tamed them and now they are totally sweet, full of energy, and absolutely adorable. (Their mother who is very wild was spayed and returned.) They are 11-13 weeks old, have been tested negative for FIV/FeLV, treated for URI's, been dewormed multiple times, flea and earmite treated, and had their first set of three vaccinations. I will be getting them spayed/neutered in the next couple of weeks and doing their follow-up vaccinations. Interesting note: orange cats are only female about 10% of the time, so Creamsicle is a rarity.

The two are very close friends and also love other cats. I would prefer to adopt them out together but would adopt them out separately to the right homes. They are both getting lots of premium cat food, attention and toys.

Adoption donation is $125 each which will help to cover some of the above cost plus microchipping. I will not make a cent on these kittens. In fact, the donation won't even cover the cost. (Testing and microchipping are particularly expensive, not to mention the other costs involved.)

Phone interview, home visit, signed agreement necessary. This is standard rescue procedure and will ensure everyone's happiness. I am an experienced cat rescuer and behaviorist. If you are the lucky adopter of these kittens, I will make myself available to you for advice and resource information. I can also help you with any initial follow up care you might need at no or low cost. (The follow-up vaccinations are included.) You can meet the kittens in my home or yours, or we can arrange a meeting at a Petco where I sometimes do adoptions with a rescue group.
