Need a Controller for health care company downtown! (Downtown)
Project Solutions (www.psa-la.com) is seeking qualified candidates for a Controller position in a growing company downtown that provides health care technology and services to its clients. The company has a fast-moving entrepreneurial culture and is looking to revamp their financial processes, and the organization of the Accounting department. This is a contract position initially; down the road the company may hire the candidate on as their CFO. So there is upward potential here.
This assignment will be 3 days per week onsite at least for the first 90 days, so you must have 3 days per week of availability to take this on. You must also be ok with commuting downtown from wherever you are. Preference will be given to candidates who are located within 30 minutes of downtown.
Candidates must have a firm grasp of the details in the following areas:
-AP/AR/GL
-Bank reconciliations
-Financial reporting
-Footnotes and schedules
This is primarily an oversight and special projects role, although the company will need the person to be hands-on as they prepare for their audit in a few months.
Active CPA in California is preferred. Strong communications skills and reliability are required. Some nonprofit experience helpful as well. The candidate must possess top-notch Quickbooks skills (with a recent release of QB Pro or Enterprise).
General experience guidelines: if you have an audit background, 5 years. If you have a corporate finance background with no audit experience, 10 years is required, including a prior stint as a Controller. You must have experience supervising other staff.

Compensation is $40-45 per hour, DOE.
Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related field is preferred. You must have a college degree to qualify (junior college isn’t enough).
