A $70M design-build HVAC mechanical construction company headquartered in Las Vegas and with operations in California and Washington, D.C. metro area seeks highly skilled Safety/Risk Manager at the corporate level to manage and implement a comprehensive company safety program that will achieve significant results. The right candidate should possess these skills, credentials and experience:
• A passion for safety and prevention of accidents and injuries;
• Strong field or corporate level safety inspection, accident prevention, training, and loss prevention results;
• Possess all of the necessary and required OHSA and relevant state safety certifications;
• Plans, implements safety policy & procedures in Compliance with Federal/State rules and regulations.
• Manages safety submittals dealing with contracts and projects. Interprets and apply regulatory requirements applicable to the project’s scope of work.
• Develop safety programs/plans to include emergency actions, response, evacuation and security plans.
• Conduct Safety training, as required, as well as New Hire Safety training.
• Lead accident investigation and prepares materials and evidence for claims and manages the settling worker’s comp claims in partnership with our insurance carriers;
• Good experience interfacing with state and federal safety agencies and proactively developing programs that insure compliance and a positive working relationship with these agencies;
• A bachelor’s degree in a relevant degree program (i.e. construction management, engineering, safety/risk management), and/or possess an accredited Safety/Risk Management certification with the experience to be the top safety/risk manager for a $70M construction company;
• Good computer skills that can input and generate statistical reports that accurately records safety incidents, remedial actions and can demonstrate how the safety manager is having an impact on improving safety and reducing reportable accidents and injuries;
• Strong interpersonal skills that results in the field managers respecting and following his/her safety programs and guidance while yet enforcing safety policies that achieve significant results and accident prevention.
The position may be located in Las Vegas, Southern California or the Washington, D.C. metro area and will report to the Senior Construction Manager for the company.
