I was recently in Afghanistan and I bought a pretty interesting item at a bazaar while I was there. The shop owner didn't really give me too much information as far as what it was other than it was "very old".

Since then I've tried to research the object and haven't really found out where it comes from and what it might be worth. I've been told that it is from the persian era because of the carvings of the gazzelle and tiger. I also went to the LACMA yesterday and found a similar carving on a stone that was from 13th century Konya, Turkey.

I know it is a water vessel of some sorts because it has a spout on the end of the animals mouth and two small holes for attaching a rope. The entire object is carved out of one single piece of rock. I've also been told that it was pretty typical for the people of that era to fill it with water and hang it at night to cool down the water and keep it cold.

Can anyone confirm that this may be a very old item from the persian era perhaps?

I have been playing and teaching guitar for over 16 years. When it comes to teaching, I have done what I wish was done for me when I was learning: create a seamless and sensible flow of information that wastes not a moment and allows my students to pick up right where they left off regardless of how much they practiced in-between. The guitar is an extremely versatile instrument and you have to learn all the basics in order to move on to anything else - such as your own style or signature.

My lessons are very unique in design. All the fundamentals of the guitar are broken down into easy to understand mathematics, and after you learn the basics of simple chord structure and finger strength, it is easy to move on at your own pace depending on how much time you want to give to me and the instrument.

Without trying to sound arrogant, I believe strongly in the idea that there are many excellent guitarists out there � but hardly any good teachers. Its one thing to PLAY, and another to CONVEY. I have implemented a great system using my computer and CDRWs to capture what was covered in the lesson for you to take home with you, and play on your computer or stereo. I have said before how learning the guitar can be related with learning to paint. At first, I show you all the possible different colors that you can play with. When you know them, you�ll want to use them, but you don�t know about brush stroke or technique. After I show you how to properly apply color you may wonder�.�well, how does this color work with that color?� or �If I started with this color, do I guess and play around with the others to see what works or is there a system to knowing what colors will work well together before you even start to paint?�

I teach you all the basics, all the physical techniques, all the math, you will comprehend the instrument and, with discipline and practice, be playing what you want to play by the end August. Basically, I am confident enough to say its ALL IN YOUR HANDS. If you give me your time, it is physically impossible for you to not play and understand perfectly. My previous teachers tended to waste time with non-relatable scales and little song parts that I had to master from THEIR favorite players.

That�s not what we will be doing. I have edited the entire process down to the essentials so lessons are a seamless and flowing stream of comprehension that you will look forward to. Learn a new set of skills and exercises, hear a song that I choose that has elements of those exercises in them, and go home with the burned CD of your exercises, the relatable song, and what to practice. Everything makes sense, everything goes together, nothing is skipped or missed and the only thing left up to chance is your dedication.

And that�s the bottom line. Guitar isn�t for everyone. I will admit people have come to me with a misplaced agenda in their desires to learn the instrument�.and they go home failed because their heart wasn�t in it. There is nothing in the world like playing the guitar. The endless parameters of sound through guitar and amplifier types, volume, effects, and personal touch and signature make it one of the few popular activities in the world that can still be as unique sounding as the individual playing it. I am looking for the family of Juan Lozano and Maria Gomez (husband and wife) who were born in Zacatecas... probably circa 1870. They had a large family... maybe 12 children... who we believe all migrated to California. The youngest child, Eleuteria was raised in her early years by her grandparents in El Paso. She remembered living on Cypress Street.

Juan Lozano was killed by Pancho Villa. Maria Gomez Lozano moved to Dawson, New Mexico with her youngest daughter, Eleuteria Lozano, probably in the mid to late 1920s and then later to Santa Fe, New Mexico. They lost all contact with family members. Maria Gomez Lozano died May 11, 1934 in Las Vegas, New Mexico.

Maria Gomez had a brother, Eulogio Gomez, who helped her move. We think he went to California as well.

Eleuteria Lozano Romero was my mother-in-law. She was born in about 1912 and passed away in 1983.I am doing a genealogy book for my children and would very much appreciate any connection I can make. I am posting the only picture we have of Maria Gomez Lozano... it is very poor quality but hopefully it will help.

What a story - - - maybe you can help me make this happen.

I have an idea. Been sitting on it for 7+ years, but I�ve begun to write a novel (fiction, based on 100% factual events). First 2 chapters are done, and outline for entire book is nearly complete. I want to continue, to get it out and in to publishers' hands.

Ever read a Sidney Sheldon or Danielle Steele novel? Don't want to "box in" my parameters or compare to their level of writing or style, but the reader audience of my novel is wide and cross-market viable.

My family�s life and history (over 3 generations) has a whopper story to be told, that would likely be an award winner, and even would be a candidate to be made in to a great screenplay.

Here are the basic parameters/outline (just to wet your whistle�):

My Grandmother became pregnant just before the depression hit the US. My Great Grandparents took the baby (my Father) from her at birth, and threw her out of the house, and the whole town (in New England). She traveled to FL (Miami Beach), alone, on the new Flagler Railroad in 1931, and within months married a mobster (affiliated with Al Capone). My Father grew up, joined the US Army and was a spy/decoder in the 40�s, then went to college, and met and married my Mother (who tricked him in to marrying him, claiming she was pregnant with me � she wasn�t, at the time. They annulled the marriage, then remarried shortly thereafter, and I came along a year or so later). My Father became a very successful NYSE broker, and was one of the founding organizers/developers of NASDAQ. He ended up having a checkered and interrupted broker�s career in the early 70�s, and became a career bank robber, instead (on 10-most wanted list). He went to prison � served his time. My Mother struggled and raised my younger brother and me the best she could, but I became the �head of the family� when I was 18. She (my Mother) also has a �checkered� past with �the law� � that I only learned about when I was in my late 20�s). Turns out, she�d had legal incidents going all the way back to 1952, and I�m the only non-felon in the whole family. There�s a lot more detail and events intertwined in this novel I�m writing (including S. Florida land development �insider info� that occurred in the 40�s thru the 70�s, and very unusual paralleling coincidences during my interactions with the Feds, that I learned about thru the whole process that I experienced while both of my parents were jailed), but this should give you an idea of the story � all based on actual, documented events.

I�ve been in the advertising industry for 25 yrs. +, so I write well, and and know �how� to present a �juicy� story. I�m humorous, succinct, very detail-oriented, and have been steadily researching correlating events that are germane to setting the novel�s �tone� and �rhythm�.

I�m already published (short stories and articles, mostly � nothing major). I need a mentor. Someone who will guide me or even provide a financial influx for a short period (3 months� worth, to cover some � not all � of my living expenses), so I can just write � I want to finish enough chapters and the full outline in 90 days� time, to submit it to publishers.

I am willing to offer profit sharing in the novel�s publication, and residuals.
