OVERVIEW
We are seeking a Building Envelope Consultant responsible for utilizing technical knowledge, intellectual ability, and practical experience to produce construction documents, peer reviews as well as assist with construction administration on Building Envelope, Roofing and Waterproofing projects. This position will be based out of El Segundo, CA and will report to the Los Angeles Division Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Preparation of construction details, plans and other drawings.
- Provide on-site construction investigation of field conditions.
- Prepare specifications.
- Review products and make product recommendations.
- Maintain project documentation/files, job logs, and meeting minutes.
- Independent field investigation work to determine the source and cause of water intrusion.
- Report writing, summarizing conditions and recommending alternative solutions.
- Cost estimating, scheduling and preparation of proposals.
- Project management of building envelope projects.
- Review submittals and shop drawings received from contractors, for compliance with the specifications and drawings.
- Review and respond to requests for information from contractors and subcontractors.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Typically must hold bachelors degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or a similarly related field from an accredited university, or have demonstrated competence to function in this position.
- A licensed Engineer or registered Architect is preferred.
- Requires minimum of 7 years industry experience, i.e. experience with building envelope technology, roofing, waterproofing or exterior façade.
- Familiarity with Concrete, Roofing or Waterproofing systems.
- Must posses the ability to prepare written documentation such as letters and reports on a professional level.
- Candidate must have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must be able to interface well with team members and clients.
- The successful candidate should be capable of operating independently, systematic in their approach, and show attention to detail.
- Must have experience with Word, Excel, Outlook and AutoCAD.
