In this project you’ll be completing multiple tasks during one session lasting approximately two hours. You will complete an attention task using a computer screen while in the MRI scanner and several pen-and-paper questionnaires while outside the scanner.
You will earn $30 for your participation as well as a picture of your brain. You will receive the money at the end of your session, whether you complete it or not.
Our study is specifically examining the effects of emotion on attention. During the attention task, you will see pictures, some of which are emotional and some are neutral. Some of the emotionally arousing pictures shown in this study are graphic and/or disturbing. For example, they may involve disgusting images, medical scenes, or nudity.
