Job Summary:
The Human Resources Assistant reports to the HR Manager, and will be responsible for supporting the department in a variety of HR functions. Key responsibilities include updating and maintenance of personnel data in the HRIS system (PeopleSoft) and other related databases for all personnel, new hire processing, personnel file maintenance, employment verifications, maintaining data integrity, and developing queries and reports for management. In addition, this position will assist the department with various human resources processes and functions.
Qualifications:
Must possess strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and priorities, while meeting deadlines of fast-paced environment. Candidates should demonstrate critical thinking and sound judgment with the ability to analyze and resolve problems. Must also have a demonstrated knowledge of Human Resources practices and principles, with ability to maintain confidence of personal and highly sensitive information. Excellent written and verbal communications skills, excellent customer service skills and the ability to interface with all levels of staff and management. Must have a demonstrated high level of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
Education/Experience:
A four-year college degree in Human Resources, Business or a closely related field is preferred. Professional Human Resources certification is a plus. One to two years experience in the Human Resources department of law firm or other professional services organization is strongly preferred. Experience with PeopleSoft 8.8 and query writing is strongly desired.
