Successful candidates will take ownership of this project and be at point leading a team of event professionals in pre-event conceptualization, coordination, contract negotiation, budget management, production, public relations, event partnerships, overall event execution, and post-event reporting. Experience in entertainment and fashion industry event production is required.

Proficiency in MAC applications and the ability to create extensive excel spreadsheets, proposals and mockups. You will be required to fulfill administrative duties such as: organize company database, compile contacts list, as well as process and produce Event Production Manuals. Previous experience developing and managing budgets. Proven ability to motivate, manage and train others.

Excellent interpersonal communications skills. Effective business correspondence skills both written and verbal. Personal appearance and hygiene must be well kept and presentable. Ability to analyze local market trends, fashions, and fads. Ability to think quickly, solve problems effectively and efficiently, and handle multiple tasks. Strong attention to detail and deadlines. Previous experience in music and nightclubs, live performance event management, and/or event marketing is preferred.

Current TV (http://current.com) is the first network created by, for, and with an 18-34 year-old audience. The network shows young adults what's going on in your world, in your voice, and from your point of view. Current TV is broadcast into over 50 million homes worldwide.

Westaff, a global staffing company, is looking for outstanding students to work part-time representing Current TV on campus during the 2008 fall semester/quarter. Be a part of a grass-roots effort to get more students involved in Current. As part of a national network of students, you�ll spread awareness about Current and will help grow the online and TV-viewing community.

These Campus Outreach Representatives (CORs) will work on campus throughout the fall semester/quarter, and will be paid at a base rate of $10/hour with additional incentives for reaching performance goals.

CORs are required to participate in a weekly conference call, from 5 � 6pm PT (8-9pm ET) on Mondays, throughout Fall Semester/Qtr. The program begins on September 8, 2008 and continues through mid-December 2008.

We are currently seeking a Director of Development to act as a key strategist and to assume responsibility for all aspects of fund raising including foundation and corporate grants, and major gifts to ensure the achievement of projected annual revenue requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

The Director of Development works closely with the President and General Counsel, and Board of Directors in developing and implementing fund raising plans, maintaining strong relationships with donors, researching and pursuing prospects, writing proposals for foundations and corporations, developing partnerships with corporations, and maintaining overall funder compliance. The Director of Development also develops fund raising goals, plans and strategies to raise annual revenue to support MALDEF�s overall operation; directs and supervises a professional and clerical staff; and works closely with other Senior Managers as part of the President�s executive management team. The Director of Development will manage a set of goals to: increase overall revenue, diversify funding sources and create and develop funding for multi-year efforts. Other responsibilities include: developing and managing a comprehensive strategic fund raising plan to meet short- and long-term funding goals; pursuing new opportunities for funding from a wide variety of sources among foundations, corporations, and individuals; maintaining electronic and paper filing systems to ensure proper management of information, relationships, and deadlines; and ensuring fund raising goals and objectives are met.

Education & Experience:

Undergraduate degree from an accredited institution in nonprofit management, public relations, communications, journalism, business, marketing, or related field, including courses in social science. Graduate degree preferred and may be substituted for two years of experience. Ten years of progressively responsible experience in fund raising including proposal and grant preparation and direct-mail solicitation, communications, and marketing with evidence of positive results related to efforts. Experience should also demonstrate ability to relate to boards of directors, corporate and foundation executives, and community representatives. At least three years experience supervising professional and clerical staff is required.

Knowledge, Skill & Abilities:

The ideal candidate will have a progressive fund raising track record in non-profit organizations with budgets of $5 million or more and will be passionate about civil rights. He/she will have the ability to speak effectively and present his/her self in an outgoing, persuasive but tactful manner and will have some familiarity with of local, state, and national civil rights and Latino issues organizations. The ability to speak, read, and write English fluently is required; proficiency in Spanish is desirable. Knowledge of Raiser�s Edge, computer operations, Internet, and Microsoft Office applications sufficient for drafting correspondence, and reports, and for oversight functions is required. Travel by airplane and by private automobile in connection with fund raising and administrative needs is required.

Manage all regional marketing expenses and invoicing such as membership fees, advertising expenses, etc.
Support marketing team with any ad hoc projects that may come up.

Basic Qualifications:

1-2 years of marketing related work experience.
Very strong communication skills, written and verbal.

Excellent planning and project management skills.
