JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for an enthusiastic, self-starter, to join our Product Development Development Team at our Los Angeles home textile company. The Graphic Designer will serve as an assistant to the Product Development Department. He or she will work closely with our product development team to assist in all areas to support our national retail partners in the juvenile and home floor covering industry. This position is an excellent opportunity to gain experience working with national retailers. This is a full time, entry level position with potential for growth at a leading US rug importer and wholesaler.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Communicate merchandising concepts through graphics and illustrations. Must have the ability to show a range of styles from adult to children
• Design projects include but not limited to presentation materials, logos, brochures, posters, schematics, etc.
• Create consistent work throughout all projects keeping in mind brand integrity and strategy
• Multi-task effectively with high attention to detail
• Prioritize projects to meet tight deadlines consistent with fast paced retail environments
• Manage sample inventory
• Manage licensed artwork approvals and archiving
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design or a related field from recognized University.
• 1-3 years experience required, textile experience a plus
• Work on national retail accounts a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills
• Energy, enthusiasm, and attention to detail to produce high quality work
• Ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize work
• Expert knowledge of the Adobe CS4 software (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat) Microsoft Office, PC based office environment
