Artist looking for studio assistant intern.
Looking for an intern to help with a show and several other projects I'm in the process of preparing. I need someone that can commit 2-3 days a week till the show ships. This could lead to a paid assistant position for the right person in the New Year.
I'm looking for someone who has experience with CAD modeling and/ or with sculpture and materials. I'm making accurate models and plan drawings in Rhino, Sketchup and other CAD/ AutoCad type programs, project planning and development, as well as working on sculptures, photos and videos.
Your appreciation of skill, craft, and a love of objects and the space they relate to is a must! Organization and your attention to detail is also very important. This would be good situation for someone who is interested in refining their sculpture/ architecture show production skills, processes and practices, and may be able to earn credit while doing it.
The ideal person has love for, and has some experience working with a range of processes and materials; from glass to adhesives to steel, digital and traditional photography, as well as computer skills in generating proposals, budgets, and fabrication plans, Photoshop and Illustrator, Final Cut Pro. I need help with project planning, project modeling, As well as coordinating with fabricators and suppliers.
The experience will offer a working understanding of developing a gallery show in Europe and working with a public art production group in the US in developing a large public/private sculpture and surrounding events, and more...
