Community Outreach Worker
Eisner Pediatric & Family Medical Center, established in 1920, is a quality-focused, non-profit community health center composed of over 250 employees dedicated to improving the physical, social and emotional well-being of people in the communities we serve, regardless of income.
We are currently seeking a highly motivated Community Outreach Worker to market and enroll participants into state and county health insurance programs. The incumbent will assist in strengthening positive relationships between the clinic and the surrounding communities (i.e. health fairs, schools, networking meetings, etc), both individually and in group settings.
Duties include (but are not limited to):
• Identifying target areas of uninsured and underinsured
• Educating and counseling current and prospective clients’ on understanding matters related to family planning, access to care, use of programs, etc.
• Marketing all center programs
• Disseminating information to perspective clients and following up with existing clients
• Maintaining logs to document all activities related to outreach efforts.
• Participate in community events
• Flexible schedule (Monday-Saturday; may require some evenings and weekends)
Qualifications:
• High School graduate or equivalent
• Must have minimum one (1) year of community outreach/enrollment experience
• Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
• Must possess excellent written, verbal, and listening skills
• Must have a valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance
• Knowledge of healthcare programs including eligibility preferred
• Certified Application Assistor (CAA) preferred
• Must be comfortable presenting in front of large groups
• Basic computer skills
