We have an opening for an Enterprise Network Engineer contract position. The individual will be responsible for providing network engineering services to a large company located in Los Angeles.
Detailed Job Description:
The available position is to provide network engineering services as part of the Windows Engineering team.
Responsibilities:
· Monitor server health and maintain service pack levels, antivirus, etc.
· Evaluation of new network management technologies
· Assist staff members with problems relating to daily server issues.
· Support day to day management of Windows Active Directory, DNS, WINS, DHCP.
· Support day to day management of Windows Exchange 2003.
· Coordinate with staff regarding planned outages and maintenance or system changes.
· Assist in evaluating the impact of new software and client/server applications being considered to determine impact on current infrastructure.
· Manage application deployment of server/client software.
· Maintain enterprise backup.
· Basic defect testing and analysis of hardware issues including power cycle and simple parts replacement under instruction.
Essential Skill & Qualifications:
The successful applicant will have outstanding customer service skills and excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Candidates should have strong interpersonal skills - they must be able to interact with personnel in multiple business roles; Be self motivated; Have technical problem solving and analytical skills and be able to prioritize workload and complete tasks within a strict agreed SLA.
Required skills:
· Need to have enterprise experience.
· Windows 2000 and 2003 Server OS.
· Technical expertise in both Software and Hardware RAID.
· Technical knowledge of Exchange Admin 2003.
· Knowledge of Microsoft's DNS WINS & DHCP services.
· Technical expertise in Hardware Fault diagnosis.
Desired skills:
· Knowledge of Tivoli storage Manager (TSM) backup solution.
· Knowledge of Altiris Recovery Solution.
· Knowledge of Windows 2008 Server OS.
· Knowledge of SolarWinds.
