Innovative well-backed Mobile/Retail/Web 2.0 startup seeks Implementation Manager

Giiv is a unique startup, based near downtown Los Angeles, that lies at the intersection of the mobile, retail & web 2.0 industries. We are backed by very high profile investors and are in beta.

We’re looking for a hands-on retail systems person to drive integration.

Location
Our offices are near downtown Los Angeles. You must be a local candidate or willing to relocate.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Work closely with a team comprised of Software Engineers, Retail Systems Analysts, and Quality Assurance staff to implement our gifting platform to retailer’s POS (Point of Sale) and back-office systems.
• Create project plans and manage such plans for implementation projects.
• Implement interfaces, reports communication layers for backend integration between retailer and our platform.
• Perform design changes for product improvements/upgrades and actively participate in design and code reviews.
• Conducts tests, both unit and integration testing of software configurations.
• Oversees the progression of a new retailer from our different environments (e.g. Development to Testing, Testing to Staging and Staging to Production).
• Champion company’s development process, provide input toward general process improvement and contribute to its evolvement.
• Continually stay up-to-date with industry changes and bring new concepts to team.
• Provide technical input to Software Engineering and Quality Assurance staff.
• Learn and evaluate POS systems utilized in the industry.
• Evaluate third party products and specifications.
• Manage one’s own time and others' time against project plans.
• Periodically work overtime to meet project deadlines.
• Exhibit high personal commitment to quality, implementing Project Management and Implementation best practices.
• Provide input on program schedule and accurate estimate of project deadlines.
• Handle escalated technical support calls.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Formal education level:
• Bachelor’s degree in a related area (Project management, Computer Science, Computer Information Services, Management Information Services) or equivalent industry experience
Specific skills & proficiency level:
• Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, analytical and problem solving skills.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience:
• 2-3+ years of experience Project Management of technical projects.
• 5+ years of working experience in retail or retail related industries.
• Knowledge of Retail Software, Radiant Aloha Systems or Micros a plus.
