Network Operation Center Technician

Growing ISP seeking a full time Network Engineer who will be responsible for T1/T3/Colocation network infrastructure. This person will be responsible for responding to all service interruptions or performance problems. They will track all trouble tickets and ensures closure of problems. Consults with appropriate vendors and IT teams to resolve serious problems. Provide 24x7x365 monitoring, escalation and status reporting of network infrastructure and servers

Must have the ability to be on-call 24/7 when required

Required Qualifications:
Experience with T1 and T3 lines and Telecom/Transport Infrastructure
Strong knowledge of data/IP networking including IP Subnetting, NAT, DHCP, etc
2-3 years experience in ISP NOC environment with IP Telecom equipment
Cisco switching experience such as VLANS, Cisco 35xx switches, trunking and tagging
Cisco routing experience such as static routing, IP Address assignments, and troubleshooting
Cisco CCNA, CCNP certificate or equivalent work experience
Hands on experience with Cisco IOS, routers PE and CE, and switches. (Cisco 1700 – 7200, Adtran 900 series)
Ability to maintain infrastructure routers and customer routers, such as upgrading IOS code with minimal impact
Manage and admin Windows and Linux based DNS Servers with ability to utilize network tools (ie ping, traceroute, whois, dig, etc)
Experience with VMWARE or XEN virtual environments
Broadsoft VOIP Voice Switch, Shortel VOIP, Mitel VOIP, Asterisk VOIP or Cisco Call Manager VOIP experience

Functions/Responsibilities:
Receive incoming customer calls for trouble/technical support
Create trouble tickets for incoming customers, getting most valuable information for troubleshooting
Work trouble tickets and perform fault tests
Proactively monitor customer circuits
Cooperatively work with external vendors/partners and LECs to sectionalize and repair network and local loop issues
Open trouble tickets with appropriate external vendors/partners
Maintain customer interaction during outages/downtime and provide status
Work on ongoing migration or maintenance projects
