Job Purpose and Summary: The Clinical Research Nurse III (CRN III) is a registered nurse who shares responsibility with the principal investigators to ensure that clinical investigations are conducted in accordance with the requirements of all regulatory agencies. The CRN III ensures that activities and approvals required for the protection of human subjects by the IRB (entitled "Committee on Clinical Investigations" at CHLA) are completed, that required data and documents are completed, that patients and families are prepared for participation in clinical protocols, and that effective methods for protocol management are used in collaboration with the attending MDs and other members of the research team. The CRN III oversees the direct nursing care provided by other licensed/non-licensed personnel in the research area, and supervises all aspects of clinical trials. Monitors study patients, provides nursing services, and maintains and oversees accurate records. Employee will follow applicable policies and procedures in handling supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment.
