Position: Adjunct Faculty – Homeland Security
Reporting to: Online Director of Education
Location: Remote (work from home)
Overview:
Fully accredited post-secondary career training institute seeks part-time instructors to teach Homeland Security classes for its Online Career Training Program.
About the job:
We are a successful vocational and career college with several locations in Southern California. As we continue to grow our popular Homeland Security Program Online, we are seeking instructors to teach one or more classes on a part-time basis from home.
Primary duties and responsibilities:
• Implement curricula as prescribed by ICDC College while making use of activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
• Respond promptly (within 24 hours) to all student questions by phone and email. Proactively reach out to students who may need assistance.
• Grade student assignments within 48 hours of submission.
• Engage in activities related to improving student retention. Ensure that all absent students are contacted immediately. Identify areas of concern.
• Select and modify instructional resources and curricula to meet the needs of students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.
• Monitor student progress and contact students who fall behind schedule.
• Maintain effective records.
• Participate in required ICDC College training and professional development programs.
Skills and Experience
• Minimum 3-years work experience in the fields of Private or Public Security or Law Enforcement required
• Prior teaching experience required
• Proven track record of success in school or work required
• Strong written and verbal communications skills required
• Prior experience with online education a plus
• Spanish speaking a plus
• Prior experience in vocational education a plus
