A normal shift will vary from five to eight hours per night (could be less hours, depending on business necessity/seasonal). Drivers will work five to six days per week, but never on Saturday nights. A class “C” license is required. Driver Responsibilities: 1. Sequence the night’s route on the company computer. 2. Load coolers into the company truck. 3. Make the night’s deliveries in a timely manner. 4. Complete some light paperwork throughout the shift. 5. Unload empty coolers and turn in completed paperwork when shift is over. 6. Attend a required monthly driver’s meeting on the first Tuesday of each month before their shift. Meetings are paid and start at 7:00 p.m. Free pizza and soda are provided. This test is designed to evaluate the applicant’s ability to control a company vehicle throughout various obstacles. Upon passing the driving test, the applicant will accompany a supervisor in the delivery of 12 – 20 coolers on a partial route. If the supervisor is satisfied with the applicant’s abilities to read a Thomas Guide and locate all the addresses on the route, he/she will be asked to return after successfully passing a required drug and alcohol test. All applicants will be compensated for the night’s work at $10/hour, even if they are not offered the position. Training: New drivers will drive the first three nights with a trainer and be sent out independently on the fourth night. Training will include the proper etiquette of doing night deliveries, proper handling of the clients’ coolers, radio communications, paperwork, etc. Upon returning to the office on the fourth night, a supervisor will evaluate the driver’s performance and inform him/her if they are being offered the position.
