NBC's new city websites feature unique around town, entertainment and local news coverage, delivered from the standpoint of a true insider. We are looking for an intelligent and highly motivated freelance entertainment writer to write and report blog posts about TV, film, and music.
The entertainment writer will create 6-8 posts a day, mixing original reporting with analysis and commentary. The entertainment writer must have excellent writing and reporting skills, a strong background in LA entertainment industry coverage, and the ability to bring a distinctive voice to a story.
Specific responsibilities include:
-Write 6-8 posts per day and regularly create slideshows. Ensuring the voice, tone and mix of content fits with the editorial strategy created by NBC Local Media.
-Contact studios, media companies, agents and other sources daily to find original angles and exclusives.
-Attend occasional screenings, parties, and press conferences .
-Curate a variety of stories from other reliable sources, including industry blogs, newspapers, online publications, and magazines.
-Take direction from senior editors at Local Media's editorial center in New York and editors in Los Angeles.
