PROJECT ENGINEER

JOB DESCRIPTION
• Design of custom air pollution abatement equipment.
• Create project design drawings for direct fired, recuperative, regenerative thermal and catalytic oxidizers; including major components for fabrication & installation. This includes conceptual design, heat & material balance calculations, control logic, equipment sizing and specifications as required for successful project execution.
• Analyze customer process data and develop process flow control, instrumentation and electrical diagrams.
• Recommend energy efficiency technologies for capture of waste heat from process operations such as boilers, ovens, dryers, etc.
• Design ducting and hoods for air pollution collection systems.
• Develop and maintain engineering procedures and technical standards.
• Develop and qualify equipment suppliers for key components. Monitor technical performance of qualified suppliers and implement corrective actions.
• Support manufacturing, sub-contractors, and suppliers to ensure on time delivery of high quality equipment while maintaining safety practices in all phases of a project.
DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITY
• Develop and maintain courteous professional and ethical relationship with customers, government agencies, and co-workers.
• Produce accurate calculations utilizing sound engineering formulas, principles and practices.
• Develop Mechanical Drafting, Assembly Drawings, Sheet Metal Fabrication Details & Welding Representations. Accurate depiction of assemblies and mechanical parts identifying dimensions, angles, curvatures, tolerances and materials.
• Experience with Electrical Drafting, Motors & Control Circuits, Logic Diagrams, Schematics, Wiring Diagrams, Process Piping Details, and Flow Diagrams are a plus.
• Advise appropriate persons of concerns and/or discrepancies after collecting and analyzing data.
• Provide technical support including proper operation and maintenance procedures.
• Plan and organize workload to meet deadlines.
• Follow directions and office procedures.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
• Familiarity with Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Oxidizer design, V.O.C. Abatement Equipment, and/or Waste Heat Recovery Equipment.
• Electrical, Mechanical & Sheet Metal experience necessary.
• 5+ years recent process design experience.
• PC proficiency with AutoCAD 2006 and Microsoft WORD, EXCEL, OUTLOOK is a plus.
• BS Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical) or related verifiable professional experience.
