1979 Ibanez Musician Bass. Vintage collectible. Made in Japan. Mahogany body sides with a maple, neck-through design that gives it amazing sustain and a great, solid tone. Ebony fretboard with beautiful abalone inlays and large frets. Two large soapbar style pickups with adjustable pole pieces. Active/passive electronics. This bass has had an Aguilar OBP-3 preamp professionally installed in place of the original preamp. It�s wired as the 18 volt option which gives it massive low-end headroom. The volume knob is a push/pull pot that can disengage the active preamp when it�s pulled out to switch to the passive circuit. There has been no additional routing or holes added. This bass is a tone chameleon that can go from jazz bass to dub bass to clavinet-like tones. There is buckle rash on the back of the body and there are dings and dents in various places. The headstock has some smears on the very end and there is a ding on the lower part of the neck. One of the tuning heads has been replaced and is not original. 1988 Gibson Les Paul Standard with Bigsby (Alhambra) $1800

This is a player's guitar, not a mint showpiece, but a great, vintage instrument that has been lovingly treated and tweaked into optimum playing condition. There are small dings, some minor buckle rash, a little area on the side of the headstock that's lost some finish. Binding has yellowed to a beautiful aged hue, Gibson Deluxe tuner buttons also nicely aged. Low action, lots of life in the original frets. All in all a very classy and professional beast that can hang with anything from a jazz to heavy rock environment!

Here's the lowdown on this guitar:

Body, neck, fretboard, frets, tuners, bridge, finish and case are all original. Genuine Bigsby B70 vibrato added with real mop inserts. Pickups are Seymour Duncan Alnico Pro II's, aftermarket pickup rings, pick guard, selector switch plate, bell knobs and chrome jack plate. The bridge saddles have been replaced with Graph Tech String Savers, originals come with the guitar if you want to switch back - personally I prefer the String Savers, keeps the guitar in tune better with the Bigsby and it breaks way less strings. The work was done by Performance Guitar in Hollywood, who have worked on many top pro players instruments, and in part by myself, a trained luthier.

I appreciate a wide variety of genres, and am a producer and engineer as well.

I am currently offering a "new student" special of $100 for your first four lessons. That's uber cheap, and the price doesn't reflect on my quality as an instructor! I also charge $40 and hour, or $130 for future blocks of four lessons. I'm in Mid-City, and my schedule is flexible. I am a touring musician, but should be local until the spring.

The next generation of CS synthesizers is here, with added sampling and features from the AN1x synth! In keeping with the new CS-line trend of analog emulation for dance and electronic music, the CS6x offers real-time and assignable knobs, scene memory and morphing, MIDI controllability and excellent sounds. Yamaha says that this IS the machine for Trance. Its awesome arpeggiators, filters and phrase sampling are proof of this claim.

First the sounds, they're just great! 64 voice polyphony allows for some thick sounds. Excellent (AWM2) Advanced Wave Memory samples provide emulation of classic analog synths is truly possible with the CS6x enhanced abilities. It has a Bit-depth switch which allows you to degrade its output creating 'Vintage' lo-fi quality sounds, which can be cool. And filters... the CS6x has the best one yet with 2,3,4-pole filters with 6,12,24dB slopes and low, hi and band pass filter types (see technical data below for specifics) for just about any imaginable filtration method you can use to shape its sounds.

The CS6x allows you to sample sounds or load in samples using the 4MB Phrase sampler. All the features and functions a pro-quality 16-bit linear sampler should have are found here with sampling at 44.1kHz. Up to 256 Phrase sample clips can be created and used as loops in your performances or sequences. Apply effects to your samples or synth sounds using the vast array of quality digital multi-effects. The built-in arpeggiator is better than any previous CS synths with 128 patterns and filter patterns. The CS6x will also play SMF playback sequences (Format 0) loaded in from a disk. The CS6x is expandable with two slots for Plug-In Expansion Boards which add polyphony, sounds, effects and more! For performance and control the CS6x has a pitch and mod wheel, ribbon controller and 6 assignable knobs. The CS6x also has a built-in 3.3V smart media storage drive. This stores the phrase sample clips, SMF sequences and other synth data on 4, 8, 16 or 32MB cards. Simply the biggest and best CS synth from Yamaha. It has been used by Faithless and Depeche Mode.

CONDITION RATING *-Most Excellent. It really is as close to looking new as one could hope. This machine is SUPER CLEAN. Works perfectly. Operates very smoothly and solidly. (I want to keep it!!) Keys and casing are very shiny and clean.

O" icon in the corner, the first menu that pops up in the OL menu blocks it lists: PLAY SOUNDS, RECORD/SEQUENCE, MIDI, APPS, UTILITIES, and QUIT. When pressing "PLAY SOUNDS" it has a sub-menu which says: KEYBOARD, ORGAN GUITAR, BASS, ORCHESTRA, VOCAL/CHOIRS, SYNTHESIZER, WORLD, SOUND EFFECTS, DRUMS, and USER BANKS.
Each of these sub menu Sounds have further sub-menus of specific instruments in those categories.
I can't list them all here, but there are over 40 roughly. Each of those Sub sub menus sounds open up the "KARSYN" player which list some combination of VST's which are used to create that specific sound. Some of these combinations include up to 10 listed VST's, which should answer about how many plug-ins can be played simultaneously.

In the "RECORD/SEQUENCE" Menu, it lists only SONAR LE 6.2 as the loaded recording software. Under the MIDI menu is list the open labs "MFusion" control panel for your midi routing and controls. Under APPLICATIONS it lists: BURN CD-DVD, iTunes, Watch DVD, Quicktime, Mimik, and NEKO Quickstart quide

Here is a very old Stromberg Carlson tube P.A. head in exceptional condition for its age (maybe from the forties). The amp has been serviced by a professional amp tech who replaced the capacitors and resisters with high-quality vintage replacements and installed a �� jack for guitar and speaker inputs, an indicator light, and a power cord, otherwise the rest of the amp is original. The tubes in the amp are: 2 RCA �black plate� 6l6�s, 1 RCA �black plate� 5U4G rectifier, 1 6J5 Sylvania, 2 6JS7 Sylvania, and 1 6N7 Sylvania (all Sylvania tubes are American-made). The amp is around 28 to 30 watts of output power. The transformer is a �lay down� style, model number T4243. Currently, the amp is set for an 8-ohm speaker system, but can easily be readjusted for 4 or 16 ohms. Included are a Mesa Boogie fan and a DW snare case (it fits the amp perfectly). This is an awesome sounding amp with a brown sound reminiscent of a Fender Bassman. I'll toss in additional backup tubes for the amp: Tung-Sol 6j5, (2) RCA 6SJ7, and a Philco SJ5. $250.00.
