Experienced rhythm and/or lead guitarist wanted for gigging band with very eclectic influences. Democratic situation in which your originals or covers will be included with everyone else's. Lead and especially harmony vocals are welcome as well. Band has good players that are easy to get along with. We usually rehearse once a week and gig a few times a month to a few times a week. Some gigs pay, some don't. Gig earnings are split evenly as are rehearsal fees which are very cheap.
Please respond with any samples you may have. Age, gender, and image are unimportant, but you should at least be 21 due to the venue requirements. A laid-back personality is paramount and experience is helpful. This is not a pro situation, but not a beginner one either.

I'm looking for a singer that I click with musically and personally. Hopefully you play an instrument and write music as well. I can sing, but its not my strong point and I don't know that I could do more than a few songs in a row. My priority is to have fun creating, playing out and recording music. I've been playing for over 25 years and I can play most anything in the various genres of rock (except for some of the super virtuoso stuff). You should also have some skills as well, but its not like I'm looking to put together a prog rock / note burning band. You should also have something (links or mp3s) to send me so I know our playing/songwriting will mesh.

I don't care about record deals and all that and I don't plan on packing into a van and trekking across the country . I'm definitely looking for a "creating music for the art of it" band. I'd like to start of with just one person to work out the songs and play them out acoustically before adding more members.

I'd like the sound to be dynamic and have songs that could stand on their own if they were heard with just acoustic guitar and vocals. I love the song writing of Dave Matthews, Sting/Police, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd. Some newer artists I like - the Raconteurs, Sufjan Stevens, What Made Milwaukee Famous, Manchester Orchestra, Turin Brakes and Ed Harcourt.

Guitarist (m) since the age of 14, now 27. I'm thinking Black Flag meets Queens of the Stone Age, later they have dessert with The Rapture, and then get drunk with Battles and Lightning Bolt. I have gear and the right attitude. I'm blessed with great song-writing abilities and tons of influences. Looking for a solid drummer to start possibly, but all musicians welcome to reply. The drummer i used to play with still has our recordings posted. I play guitar on all tracks. Check out We Are Tough and Speed Racer. Recordings are a year old. I definitely want to incorporate this sound with a new project. I still want to add some new dynamic to whatever we come up with.
