OPERATIONS MANAGER, ARCLIGHT CINEMAS & PACIFIC THEATRES
We are currently looking for a business leader who has shared accountability and responsibility for meeting theater level financial and operating plans, as well as guest service/experience objectives. A business leader who takes a lead role in: overseeing daily operations; deploying established organizational infrastructures and structured methods designed to continuously improve operations; ensuring a work environment where the right balance of developmental challenge and support occurs and Decurion’s axioms, purpose, values, and communal commitments are present.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Takes a lead role in sharing accountability and responsibility to achieve the Fiscal Year theater level cash flow financial plan by using key result indicators and metrics to drive meaningful changes in behavior and business
• Prepares and conducts performance reviews for talent members, providing ongoing feedback coaching through performance issues resulting in development to the next level.
• Creates conditions in the theater that promote individual and collective development and holds individual staff members (could be managers or talent) to achieving individual/and or collective performance expectations.
• Deals with difficult performance issues timely and effectively. Coaches and, when appropriate, takes necessary steps to separate Talent Members who are not able to meet expectations.
• Develops self and all other members of the community so that they are knowledgeable of and working to achieve the theater’s operating plan through hourly and daily metrics, and are able to demonstrate behaviors that reflect the 5 Practices, 10/10 Operating Excellence, and Decurion’s Axioms.
• Shares accountability and responsibility, with the PPA and other managers, for the daily operation of the theater. Accountable for individually assigned functional area(s). Generally given assignments for area(s) requiring greater focus and/or experience. Uses good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions based on analysis of data and evaluation of identifiable factors.
• Demonstrates individual ability to maximize profitability and guest service/experience.
• Implements work processes that ensure compliance with all Company policies including employment, loss prevention, safety, and governing laws in order to achieve 10/10 Operating Excellence.
• Takes a lead role in sharing accountability and responsibility for deploying Decurion’s leadership and management practices and structures at the site level (IE: management division of work, management meetings, pulse check huddles, positive feedback loop, performance dialogue cycle for talent and management, and educational plays.)
• Through judgment and experience takes a lead role in maximizing business results through the consistent deployment and continuous improvement of on-site non-person dependent systems, procedures, and controls. Major areas include revenue reconciliation, cash handling, concession inventory, payroll, purchasing and invoice processing, programming and employee scheduling, and facility management. Expected to develop plans for improvement in one or more major areas.
NECESSARY EXPERIENCE:
• 1-3 years management experience in a retail or hospitality, preferably a high-level guest services, environment managing multiple shifts with 20 or more employees.
• Meaningful experience in work environments that promote personal excellence, professional discipline, and best of class business competencies.
• Able to take a lead role in partnering with subordinates, peers, and supervisors to generate superior business results through the (individual/collective development) development of self and others.
• Demonstrated ability to translate financial information, observational data, employee and customer feedback, whether quantitative or qualitative, into systems, processes or structures that result in continuous, sustainable business improvement that reduces risks and realizes opportunities in operating performance and individual and organizational development.
• A track record of having responsibility for P&L along with experience participating in timely and accurate budgeting, forecasting, and planning processes for a single site business.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Understanding of basic employment law, loss prevention, safety and other governing laws and related policies.
• Demonstrate ability to create conditions for development by preparing and conducting performance reviews; providing ongoing feedback; and coaching through performance issues resulting in development to the next level.
• Demonstrated ability to recruit and select employees, through the use of performance management tools and processes that meet the organization’s technical skills and cultural fit requirements.
• Experience in an environment requiring work on multiple tasks simultaneously; re-prioritization of work and the ability to adapt quickly.
• Prior work experience in an operationally oriented environment which required working different schedules weekly including evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Demonstrated ability to use project planning skills to implement systems which allow others to work effectively, develop goals and achieve results.
