I'm getting ready to leave a pretty good roommate situation in the Studio City area at the end of November. It's a large three bedroom apartment. You'll be renting your own room but will share the common bathroom with one other person.

There are two other people (two males) who live here for a total of three with you. Utilities are split equally three ways and include cable, internet, phone, gas, electric, and a maid who comes in every other week. My room is roughly 13' by 16 feet with a large closet that stretches about 9 feet along one side of the room. Additionally, there is some room in the common areas for storage. The apartment also has a large living room, a dining area, kitchen, and a wet bar. There is gated parking and a pool area in the center of the small complex that also contains a new grill. Coin-operated laundry on site with new machines.

Although everything works in the apartment (new fridge, air and heating work, etc), it could be in better shape (the carpet could probably use replacing, and the walls a coat of paint). This is an ideal situation for anyone who needs an inexpensive room in a no hassle apartment. My roommates are quiet and we all pretty much keep to ourselves.

We're in a great part of town close to just about anything including the gym, movies and trader joes.

Rent is $850, with an $850 security deposit. The lease is one year generally, then defaults to month to month after that. However, the Landlord is pretty cool with letting you out of it if you need to move, we just have to find someone else to rent the room in your stead, but unlike a sublease, then you are out : ) Bills are split evenly (50/50) and includes Cable with dvr access from your room, high speed internet, gas, water, electric, garbage etc... the uverse television and internet runs about $50 each per month, gas and electric vary depending on usage - in winter and if you cook and leave the lights on frequently they are higher, in summer they are often much lower.

My roommate just left after dropping out of UCLA law school and deciding to move home. He decided this one weekend and moved the next, so the room is available immediately if you'd like to move in before December 1. I graduated from UCLA law in May 2008 and am in my first year of practice for a small litigation firm, so I work very long hours during the week. Weekends, as much as I aspire to stay home and relax, generally don't work out that way, though I keep hoping. But if I don't have planned events to attend with friends, I seem to have a never-ending list of chores and errands to run on Saturday, and Sunday is my standing day to meet up with the girls in the afternoon. Your new roommate is a very sweet, considerate, and clean professional full-time working female in her late 20's. She is not a partier and definitely does not bring the party home. However, if very open to having parties and gatherings at the apartment if the two of you choose to do so.

Move-in date is December 1, latest December 15. The rent is $800 plus utilities with a $800 security deposit. You will need to pass a credit check because you will be taking over my lease which is over June 2010. Utilities rarely go over $30-$40 a month (gas, power, wifi). There is a laundry room in the apartment complex, but a larger laundrymat right around the corner of the apartment, less than 2-3 minute walk.

It is a 2 block walk to restaurants and bars (Fraiche, Ford's, Ugo, Rushstreet, etc.), farmer's market on Tuesdays, Trader Joe's, and a couple of movie theaters. It's so nice to be able to walk down to a restaurant, have drinks, and not worry about having to get into a car.

I love this apartment and location, I'm moving because I'm leaving the country. Otherwise, I would be here for a long long time! The neighbors are friendly and management is easy and nice.
