An established nutritional supplement manufacturing company in Van Nuys seeks a full-time Controller to handle all financial aspects of the company. The right candidate has a strong background in manufacturing processes; knowledge of the food or nutritional supplement industry is helpful. The right candidate is a confident self-starter who is at ease working in a dynamic and often demanding environment. A team player is a must.
As the Controller, you will handle all aspects of accounting including month-end close, prepare and review financial statements, cash flow analysis, budgeting and forecasting, and review internal financial controls. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in financial accounting and analysis as well as accounting management.
Responsibilities Include
•Support the development of and maintain policies and approval procedures for key operating areas, including purchasing, expenses, and credit
•Operate accounting and financial reporting software, including development of financial reporting formats and preparation of periodic reports. Review account and sub-account structure
•Manage accounting software vendor to ensure correct functioning of accounting system
•Prepare consolidated financial statements to ensure GAAP and FASB compliance for all operations
•Support quarterly and annual budgeting activities
•Oversee the audit process with external auditors
•Manage year-end tax reporting requirements with external tax consultants
•Conduct special projects as needed
Requirements
•Food, consumer packaged goods, and/or manufacturing experience preferred
•Strong knowledge of US GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulations
•Solid skills in MS Office, highly proficient with Excel; Experience with Great Plains a plus
•Fluent oral and written English is required
