Abby, Angel, and Precious were rescued from the West Valley shelter. They came in a box and were going to be euthanized the same day. They were bottle babies then, but now they're 9 wks old and ready for adoption. The girls are all loving, cuddly, and playful purrballs. They look similar -- mostly white with black markings:

ABBY - small black spot on right side of her head.
ANGEL - medium black spot on left side of her head.
PRECIOUS - symmetrical black markings on her head..

You could adopt one of the girls with a sister or foster friend (pic current). A kitten can be adopted on her own if you already have a cat or kitten at home.

Hemp last much longer then cotton. It grows better and protects the soil due to its root system and its ability to choke out weeds.
New Research now suggests that the Active ingredient in Marihuana Called (THC) could Be the key to finding the cure for cancer. One such Study said an active ingredient in THC is a logical replacement to chemotherapy with none of the side effects related to Chemo. No burns no hair loss no nausea. You can read about it in the forums. Research Studies prove time and time again that THC stops cancer in its tracks many of these articles are available on our site. And still the US Government suppresses the research and information. Could it be that curing Cancer is simply not a profitable business? Pharmaceutical companies know Cannabis is the key but would much rather pump people full of poison. Madness!!!!!

Was wondering if someone could come over and stitch (3-4 stitches?) him back to health. I flushed the wound with betadine and water, and then bandaged it up.

I am currently without a job, and cannot pay, however i can do very good web design, or computer repair, networking, ect.

This sweet kitty is named PEACHES because of her cream-colored fur.

She was rescued outside of the animal shelter parking lot. She was dumped there by people who didn�t even bother to take her inside where at least it was safe from cars. It was very difficult for us to catch her. Luckily we did before she was run over. She is a nice, playful kitty about 1 - 1/2 years old and she gets along well with other cats or could go to a nice home by herself.

PEACHES is spayed, fully vaccinated for 1 year, de-wormed, de-flead, examined by a vet and tested negative for FeLV/FIV and nails are kept trimmed.

Adoption fees are $95 for adult cats and these fees will cover medical costs.

I also give you a gift bag full of, toys, the 1st day of food, medical charts and valuable kitty information to take home for your new pet.

RIO is an awesome brown tabby/maine coon mix and he is about 1 1/2 years old. Rio loves to get brushed and will even fetch the brush and his favorite toys for you to play with him. He is not suited for a home with children due to past experience of them pulling his long fluffy tail.

These sweet kittens are Easter and Paulina

EASTER is gray and white and she got her name because she was rescued at 2 days old on Easter Morning! She is one of my FAVORITE KITTENS EVER! Easter is known by my friends as the Kissing Kitten! She loves to give you sweet kisses on the face! She is about 4 months old and a wonderful little girl that you will absolutely love.

PAULINA was rescued at about 2 weeks and she is the pretty calico 3 months old. She is a delicate princess with the softest fur ever. She will be a small kitty when she grows up. Both kittens would love to be adopted together or with another friend here at the Kat House. They get along well with other cats.

Female fronted symphonic metal: need guitar, bass, keys (The Valley)

New female-fronted symphonic metal band seeks 2nd guitarist, bass, and keyboardist. What your absolute favorite kind of metal is doesn't matter so much, but you should appreciate bands like Nightwish, After Forever, Epica, Within Temptation, Therion, and Amberian Dawn. What we want to do is put an American spin on the epic-melodic European metal sound.

Ideally you understand that melodic metal in Europe attracts a very different crowd than the usual metal scene in the States, and you want to bring some class to metal in the LA area. We want to look and sound polished, so we can start opening up for the melodic bands from Europe when they come into town. (You can always be a Satan Worshipping Scumdog in your other bands.) The leading melodic bands from Europe are generally good looking, talented people. We want to show them that LA can compete.

So far we have a drummer and singer, and I'm a guitarist. Singer is in her later 20s, and the drummer and I are in our earlier 30s. We're all a bit rusty compared to when we practiced constantly as younger musicians. We have 2 or 3 decent originals so far, that need a band together to evolve them into something better. We also are working on some covers in the symphonic genre so as to be a good opening act.

Here's what we're looking for, in order of importance:

- Nice talent
- Nice personality
- Nice tone
- Nice gear

For guitarists, it would be nice if you can share lead guitar duties, as I love the dual guitar attack a la Priest, Maiden, etc. One thing I have never seen in a symphonic band is high quality 2-guitar lead tradeoffs. However, this is *not* required. It would be enough if you can hold down solid rhythms, while sounding and looking good. I'd say it's more important that you like melodic metal and the European sound. Yes, the music can be cheesy, but it's also fun and becoming more popular.

We also have an opening for a keyboardist and bass player. We'd prefer at least one of these roles be female as well, but it is not essential. We'd also like the bass player to be able to handle the "growly" vocals, so we can pair you up with the lead singer for the classic beauty-and-the-beast formula. And if you're a keyboardist who happens to be able to growly vocals, that's fine too. The keyboardist is key to the epic sound by doing choir and string backgrounds, and in a perfect world, is technical enough to do solo tradeoffs with the guitars. We're not going to be a prog band but there's the right amount of spice that should be added to this dish.

If you're in music school and looking for something a little fresher and less academic, this could be a good opportunity for you. We have our own talent and resources and can help you get exposure.

From our point of view, there isn't much in LA in terms of female-fronted symphonic metal, and what exists seems not anywhere near as epic as it could be. Most of us work in software, so this is a creative outlet for us that could become serious if it wants to, but really this is more about having fun, because we just happen to be talented enough and can afford to do it. We are serious enough to rent a rehearsal space with every intention to start gigging once we are ready. We are not a cover band but will do a handful of covers early on to help us get started.

Your age is not important as long as you're not a minor. Generally you will need your own transportation, though if you happen to live close to someone else in the band, and were a particularly good fit, we could make an exception and carpool.

Anyway, if this ad speaks to you, and you know your way around the world of metal, hit us up and send me your myspace or some other recording of your work. And tell me about your gear. It can be a total demo, don't even worry about that. I'm a good judge of talent and attitude.

Jack and Pearl were tiny bottle babies when they were first rescued and spent the entire first year of their life together in a wonderful home....however, the owner brought them back to Kitten Rescue after a year due to a roommate situation. These pictures were taken the day Jack & Pearl were returned. The foster mom's home is FULL of kittens and cats, so we had to put the Jack and Pearl in a cage at PETSMART. :(

Jack is a gorgeous tuxedo & his sister Pearl is a beautiful black female with a little white on her neck. This brother & sister could not be more loving. They are so affectionate, so friendly, and very kid friendly. When you pet them, they purr and purr. They would be best in a home together without other cats because Pearl really only loves Jack and doesn't get along with other cats. They are very outgoing and love to play. Jack & Pearl stay at the PETSMART all week, but volunteers are there to help this SATURDAY & SUNDAY, JULY 26th & 27th from 12:00-3:30pm.

I have been fostering these incredibly beautiful cats for almost 2 months, I didn't plan to fall in love, I was just trying to help out their former owner who was evicted because of them. :-(

Well I do, I love them to death, but I just cannot afford to feed anymore mouths. I have 3 cats of my own, 2 kids, 1 other foster cat, and now someone just dumped a kitten on my doorstep since I'm the neighborhood "Cat Lady". >''<
Vet bills alone for the new one will leave me penniless for the month!

So meet Pretty Kitty & Zachary. Both are 18 months old, extremely clean, good little groomers, perfectly healthy, fixed, trained, shots, micro chipped, love to use the scratching post, never scratch furniture, enjoy playing on the cat tower, they eat both dry & wet food, both respond to their names, both good with kids (not toddlers), pretty damn near perfect! And did I mention they're gorgeous???

"Pretty Kitty" is a snow white absolutely pristine princess of a cat with stunning aqua eyes! She is a true diva and seriously makes your heart flutter just watching her strut across the room! She'll hop up on the toilet tank while you're umm...occupied and purr in your ear! LOL!! (Hey, her owner warned me about that habit, I didn't do it!) Gives love and kisses when SHE needs love, but otherwise is content to sit in her cat bed, or perch in the tower supervising her staff. Loves to be pet, but picked up only once in a while.
Will surprise you when your sleeping and suddenly appear on your tummy, snoring away with a smile on her face. A low maintenance kitty you can't take your eyes off of. She needs a pink diamond studded collar I think, no? ;-) (Also answers to "Prettiest.")

"Zachary" is a magnificent buff colored tabby with green saucer sized eyes and the LONGEST tail I have ever seen on a cat! It has gorgeous markings with perfectly symmetrical rings all the way down. It touches my fingertips when I'm standing, I'm 5'7! He's a big kitty with a teeny gentle meow and is Mr Personality. Loves to chase cheerios, begs for pizza, adores being pet & rubbed and will purr like a motor. Loves to drape himself across you, snuggle and sleep. Better than a heating blanket and definitely more personable. Loves toys, also answers to "Zacharoni and cheeeese!" :-)

The previous owner and I would both love to see these babies go to a new home together, but I'll separate them if I must. Adoption fee of $50 per cat to make darn sure they go to someone who will truly appreciate them. Please fwd to anyone who may be interested. Thanks! ;-)

American Stroke Association- Shakey's Fundraiser (north Hollywood)

Train to End Stroke is a marathon training group affiliated with the American Stroke Association. The coaches train us to run/walk half and full marathons. In exchange we raise funds and awareness about stroke. We are required to fundraise a minimum of $2100.

I'm running (and walking) the Disneyland Half Marathon on August 31st 2008. I'm close to raising the funds I need to raise. I need your help with the rest.

Join me on August 14th at the Shakey's Pizza place in North Hollywood between 6pm and 9pm. Order you food to dine or take out. Let the person who is taking your order know that you are here to help raise funds for the American Stroke Association (ASA). Local symphonic gothic metal startup act akin to Nightwish, Epica, After Forever, and Within Temptation is looking for a RHYTHM GUITARIST or 2nd LEAD GUITARIST to add to our lineup and back our current lead guitarist. No experience or songwriting ability necessary.

We ask for the following qualities in any interested parties:

- Male under age 35 (under 30 is really preferred).
- A look that suits the metal or gothic genre (in other words being 300lb and wearing flannels with pocket protectors won�t cut it).
- Ability to shred on a 7 string, or at least the will to learn and get the appropriate gear.
- Ability to play some leads/solos is not necessary but a bonus. What is necessary is the ability to fast pick both clean and dirty melodic rhythms, not just power chords.
- Familiarity with popular symphonic and/or gothic metal would be nice.
- Availability to rehearse & gig 2-3 nights a week in the evenings and weekends.
- No druggies or extreme boozers that are troublemakers. We will not bail you out of jail, or wait for you while you are 6 months in the state penn. But yeah we party sometimes. Come on its METAL, but let�s keep it under control.
- Money to cover expenses the band incurs (lockout, addl equipment, demos etc).
- Extra kudos for those being able to do guttural vocals during live performances, but it�s not a requirement.

We do have several original songs written which is the primary focus of our efforts, but we will also perform a handful of live cover songs from the above mentioned bands. We do have some older demo material available upon request that is not quite indicative of our current sound, but you�ll get the idea.

We ask for serious contenders that are willing to stage dive headfirst into this with passion, and aren�t afraid of starting from the ground up in something original. Our ultimate goal is to record a killer album, rock L.A. (and beyond), and yes make some money. :) We are ready to begin rehearsing once everyone is on board.

Our current location is in the central San Fernando Valley area. So transportation and punctuality is required. We will be renting a lockout unless someone joining has access to rehearsal space. We do have recording facilities covered.

We believe a band is more than just some group of people that meet to jam, we see it as a family. So we insist on dealing with people as though they are our good friends, and prefer to leave the egos and attitudes behind. Chocolate Miniature Pinscher - young (probably less than 2 years old), sweet, playful and very energetic.

He would probably be perfect for a family &/or someone who likes to take hikes, etc.

This is the 2nd time his owner lost him in a month. He claimed him the first time, but hasn�t this time (someone claiming to be his owner has shown up twice without proof of ownership). He becomes available for adoption July 26th at the East Valley Animal Shelter at 14409 Vanowen St. (new location for this shelter, just east of Van Nuys Blvd.) in Van Nuys. The direct number at the shelter is (818) 756-9323. His impound number is either A0952568 (his original impound #) or A0956398 (his 2nd impound #, but I believe they reverted back to the first #).

The cost for his adoption is approximately $100.

Since I am the one who brought him to the shelter this time, I have first dibs on adoption. I want to make sure he goes to an appropriate home that can keep up with this energetic little dog. If you think you�re the one, but can�t get to the shelter by 9:00 am, PLEASE email me via craigslist. Otherwise I will probably go get him myself, so he doesn�t get euthanized.
