The Help Group is the largest, most innovative and comprehensive nonprofit organization in the United States serving children with special needs related to autism, Asperger's disorder, learning disabilities, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder, mental retardation, abuse and emotional problems.
Stepping Stones is a Therapeutic Preschool program, providing intensive day treatment services for children ages 2 to 6. This unique mental health program focuses on the whole child, integrating all developmental areas. Each child's treatment plan is individualized to meet his or her specific areas of need. Activities are designed to address individual goals, including social competence, coping strategies, pre-academic skills and classroom functioning.
We are looking for a creative and dynamic Pre-School Lead Specialist to join our clinical team. Candidates should possess a strong background in mental health and experience working with pre-school aged children.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead in developing and conducting children's day treatment program activities.
- Provide ongoing supervision of children participating in the day treatment activities.
- Participate in individualized goal setting and case planning for participants.
- Be able to Transport children in Agency van to and from the program (if needed).
- Interface with families, schools and other community liaisons.
- Complete all charting and paperwork assigned and ensure that documentation deadlines are met.
REQUIREMENTS:
- MA or MS preferred degree from an accredited program in psychology, MFT, counseling or related field. MFT candidates may be able to receive hours towards licensure!
- Spanish bilingual preferred.
- At least one year experience specific to emotionally disturbed children and/or one year experience working in a day treatment setting.
- Must have experience working with pre-school age children.
- Valid California driver's license.
