Learn fundraising in a fast paced, entertainment industry non-profit. Be part of the development staff and assist the organization with events, donation processing, prospect research and donor recognition. If you have always wanted a chance to learn the art of fundraising but don’t have the required experienced necessary to get a job this is the internship for you!

Hours and Reporting:
Only serious candidates, who can commit for a period of time no shorter than two months, need apply.
The position is 15-25 hours per week as workload necessitates. This position reports to the development director.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assists with data entry, organization, and acknowledgement of donors for various fundraising efforts; supports administrative facets of fundraising.
2. Responsible for accurate gift tracking, stewardship and recognition; entrusted with donors’ personal and financial date.
3. Maintains effective working relationships with volunteers, donors, and staff within organization
4. Other special projects including member fundraisers, prospect research, learning eNewsletter and marketing
5. Performs related duties, as assigned.

Tasks:
• Performs data entry duties including entering gifts and constituents while maintaining quality control and audit requirements. Makes address changes on return mail and updates records as requested by both donors and Development staff.
• Prepares and prints donor acknowledgement letters using Microsoft Word mail merge files. Performs quality control prior to sending letters.
• Provides customer service to both internal and external customers. Uses donor management system to respond by letter to donor issues. Responds to donor requests for changes in records.
• Completes special projects including but not limited to cleanup as assigned by Manager.

• High level of integrity and accountability
• Accuracy and understanding of the importance of accuracy in work product
• Strong computers skills: literacy in Microsoft Office (Excel Word and Powerpoint) is critical
• Flexibility and ability to prioritize and work well under stress
• Excellent written and oral communications skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and phone etiquette
• Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with a broad range of individuals

Summary:
A successful candidate will have the ability to work in a team approach setting, exhibit excellent problem solving skills. This position requires technology experience, ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with varying deadlines, must exhibit good interpersonal and customer relations skills. An aptitude for detail work and a high level of accuracy is required.
