We are a Los Angeles-area film and television post production integrator looking for a Mac and Linux savvy system engineer to help spearhead the deployment and development of a powerful new media management system.
In this position you will be spending approximately 70% of your time working on post-production deployments and system integration, and the other 30% working as an in-house developer, improving the end-user experience of our media management system at the script/ code level. We are a very Apple-centric company, but work very hard to provide excellent cross-platform options for clients who need them.
Primary Requirement:
Very good, to excellent command-line knowledge and scripting skills in Unix and Linux-based OSes.
Technical Requirements:
A solid, fundamental understanding of OS X, Linux, and Windows XP platforms.
A solid understanding of TCP/IP networking and troubleshooting.
Experience with Fibre Channel, SAS, and SATA Storage, including RAID Arrays, SAN, NAS, and LTO Tape Loaders.
Experience with software application development and interface design would be a huge plus.
Personal Requirements:
Very good client interaction skills while on-site or over the phone.
Tireless troubleshooter with excellent problem-solving skills.
Ability to work with-in tight deadlines that are often continuously evolving.
Ability to work with-in a tightly knit team in a rapidly expanding department of our company.
Interest in working both in the office during planning and preparation, and on-site during deployments.
Interest in travel to client locations in other cities for system deployments.
Interest in the deployment and development of high-end post-production systems and technology.

We work regularly with products from Apple, AJA, RED Digital Cinema, Active Technology, Promise, Maxx Digital, Facilis, Qlogic, and Quantum. We are the only RED post-production integrator in Southern California, and work with film and television studios across the US.
