SCHOOL Campus Supervisor Job Description
BASIC FUNCTION:
Under the direction of a Principal or Assistant Principal, oversee and monitor the behavior of students who are outside of class and at school sponsored activities on campus; enforce the School’s Student Conduct Code and individual school rules; assist in the maintenance of an orderly and safe campus.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assist with preventive discipline by explaining school rules to students and parents.
Establish rapport with students in order to gain their trust and confidence; inform students of acceptable school behavior; encourage and promote courtesy among children; observe that safety rules are observed.
Patrol in and around the campus during school hours providing general supervision of students outside of class and remain alert to problems likely to disrupt the educational process or be physically injurious to persons or property.
Intercept unauthorized persons who come on campus during school hours and direct them to either report to the office or leave campus; notify the school administration if a non-student fails to comply, returns again after departing, or otherwise creates a problem.
Intervene in situations likely to result in disruption or injury and direct students to refrain from such conduct; administer conflict management between students; report special behavior problems; escort students to school administration in cases of serious or repeated violations.
Supervise students during the lunch period in the MPR, at the lunch benches, halls, and quad by roving during lunch.
Monitor the school parking lot to facilitate traffic and enforce parking regulations.
Supervise students on campus suspension and/or detention, and may include supervision of campus beautification.
Check students who are out of class during class time to inquire as to the reason for being out of class; direct tardy students to go to appropriate school office.
May assist local law enforcement officers in working with students; prepare written statements relating to student behavior and/or discipline.
May provide basic clerical relief during breaks and/or lunches and may assist office staff with basic clerical duties, such as answering phones, greeting the public, and filing, on a regular basis.
There may be times when hours may change due to special events or circumstances.

Basic methods of individual and group supervision.
Basic interests, attitudes and emotional development of adolescents.
Oral and written communication skills.
Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.
Operation of a two-way radio.
HOURS
Monday-Friday 12:00-5:30 pm
