At reRubber, we are looking for energetic problem solvers with the engineering experience to be part of a team that will explore and define new practices in the field of tire recycling.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Primary responsibilities include management and troubleshooting of onsite industrial equipment. Preparation and management of regular equipment maintenance is essential. Assigns and delegates specified work for functional activities and disseminates policies and objectives to the general staff.
- Skills required include working knowledge of industrial equipment, the ability to learn a system and apply engineering principles to make improvements and general knowledge of electrical systems.
- Strong problem solving skills are also required along with the ability to evaluate current procedures and practices for accomplishing department objectives to develop and implement improved procedures and practices.
- Assists with the development and implementation of organization policies, practices, procedures, and attainment of operating goals.
- Reviews, analyzes, and prepares reports from data gathered from production. Confers with managers and chief engineer about new commitments, status of work in progress, and problems encountered.
- Ensures adequate training of staff and employee compliance to organization's policies and practices and prepares reports and records on department activities for management.
- Create and manage maintenance schedules for the industrial equipment
- Familiar with oil hydraulic system and automatic controlling system principles (extensive practical experience a plus)
- Manage vendors
- Coordinate delivery and receiving of materials and goods.
- Perform inventory management
- Handle quality control
- Manage and carry out/delegate tasks as defined by the Chief Engineer
- Responsible for multiple teams over several shifts, from 15-60 employees
- Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Chief Engineer
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 5 years experience working in and managing the manufacturing process
- B.S. in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or degree from a technical school with focus on Mechanical/Industrial Engineering
- Engineering license or certification a plus
- Bilingual (English and Spanish)
- Computer skills: CAD, MS Office, HTML, Database
- ISO, LEAN+, Six Sigma, TQM knowledge is a plus
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work in a team environment and also be able to lead a team
- Work schedule must be flexible to meet business needs
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Work conditions are normal for a manufacturing and warehouse environment. Work involves frequent lifting, pushing/pulling, and standing.
• Work involves constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
• Work environment involves high exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following strict safety precautions and wearing personal protective equipment at all times.
