If you want cleaner air while you drive, this is a excellentsolution. Unlike most filter systems, this unit has two pounds of activated charcoal to remove many of the components of air pollution. It noticeably cleans the air. A few times I have forgotten to turn it on and the smell of car exhaust reminded me it was off. It also has particle filtration. This is no cheaply built unit. It is made of durable metal construction. I bought this because I was getting sick driving the 10/605 freeway everyday. However, due to a burn injury I am no longer working so the unit is being used. I used it for two months and it worked wonderful! No more sinus problems, coughing, smells, truck fumes...you know what I am talking about. The junk we breath while in stop and go traffic. This unit removes it. Period. It works. My brother in law who is a CHP officer turned me on to this unit. The officers buy their own purifiers right now, but they are trying to negotiate the purifier as part of the CHP patrol unit in their contract.
There are only a few downsides. It takes up some space in your car. I placed mine on the passenger floor board so the air blew toward me. So it takes the passenger floor space. My brother in law just puts his unit on the passenger seat and he straps it in with a seat belt. It unit makes some noise, but that is due to the powerful motor. If you listen to the radio when you drive, you will not hear the purifier at all. It has two speeds and the slower speed is fairly quiet.
I was very happy to find the product and would not want to be without it while driving on the freeway. I strongly recommend this unit to anyone wanting cleaner air in the car. My doctor in recommends it as he stated driving in traffic 1.5 hours each way to work and back as day is equivalent to smoking 3/4 a pack of cigaretts each day. He also recommends wearing a breathing mask; but with the air purifier he said that the mask would not provide much extra protection. I had a hard time finding this unit until my brother in law gave me the company in Texas. Do not be fooled by cheaper versions. I paid $310 plus shipping and handling. Take this unit and breath healthier. My burns will take 18 months and many surgeries, so I do not need it. But I will buy another one if I am able to work again.
