The Bella Vita, A Beautiful Life Psychology Group Inc. is a private organization that provides services for persons with eating disorders.
We are seeking a full time Medical Billing/Collector. Hours are 8 am to 5 pm, M-F.
Position Summary:
This position will be working with multiple insurance companies and patients to ensure billing, follow-up, and collection of accounts. We are looking for a task-oriented individual with great attention to detail and excellent follow-up skills. Mental health billing experience is a plus. Candidate should understand the company's mission and demonstrate sensitivity to issues of eating disorder care.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Certification in medical billing and a MINIMUM of 4 years experience in medical billing/collections. (Please do not apply if you do not satisfy this qualification.)
CPT/ICD coding
Exceptional organizational and communication skills
Knowledge of Medi-soft version 14 a plus.
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize well.
Computer competency in Word, Excel, Outlook, Access.
Professional Office Hours schedule program preferred.
MAIN DUTIES INCLUDE:
Managed Care Insurance billing to include exclusions and contract billing contacting insurance companies to verify eligibility and benefits.
Investigate delinquent accounts making recommendation on disposition of outstanding balance.
Prepare/maintain billing files and records; understand net revenue schedule and contractual log in relation to patient accounts.
Monitor insurance carriers denials for trends and account guarantors to secure payment on unpaid claims.
Perform collections on patients accounts.
Run aging reports.
Responsible for insurance tracing.
Conduct electronic billings.
Knowledge of all health plans.
Research insurance authorizations.
Respond to patient account inquiries.
Interface with collection agencies.
