Company Overview:

Our Company is one of the oldest licensed hazardous waste transporters in the State of California. The firm also performs storm water remediation. In an industry that now reaches in excess of 4250 licensee’s, we are among the PIONEERS in hazardous transportation and in storm water remediation.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a Human Resources and Regulatory Affairs Supervisor. This position reports to the General Manager. Applicant must be a self motivated individual who is a team player. The incumbent must be a good communicator, both verbally and in writing with our internal staff, regulatory entities, as well as with our customers.

Basic Job Function Description:

1 Identify legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting all regulatory functions
2 Provide functional guidance to administrative support staff and compliance guidance for management
3 Recruiting
4 Monitor unemployment, workers comp and damages claims for internal and regulatory purposes
5 Ensure that ALL required local, city, county, state (California and others) and federal permits are maintained current
6 Conduct Safety and Environmental training for employees
7 Maintain all written safety programs/personnel manuals up to date
8 Generate informative monthly newsletters
9 Ensure that employees are informed of all changes in policies, rules, and regulations
10 Direct supervision of HR administrative staff
11 Develop JHA/JSA as required
12 Satisfy customers requirements by completing all safety audits/surveys/questionnaires
13 Randomly audit jobs sites and response to large emergency responses as requested to ensure regulatory compliance
14 Not all functions are listed

15 Schedule M-F 7:00am to 4:00pm plus one Saturday manager’s meeting per month


Minimum Requirements:
3-5 years of Supervisory/Management experience in the following areas:

1 Personnel/Human Resources
2 Workers Compensation
3 Occupational and Environmental Health and Safety
4 Risk Management
5 Training
6 Transportation
7 Regulatory Familiarization, Compliance and Enforcement related to:
OSHA, ADA, DFEH, HIPPA, FMLA, ERISA, PDL, DOT, CHP, DMV, WCAB, EPA, DTSC, RWQCB, AQMD and other regulatory entities related to the areas of responsibility
1 Effective computer skills
2 Bilingual – English/Spanish a plus
