A Masters degree in mechanical engineering is highly desired and will be given preference over non-Master degreed candidates.  Proficiency with 3-D solids modeling on current software is required.

Mathematical Skills:  Ability to apply college level engineering mathematical concepts. Conduct testing and assist in plant calibrations to insure the proper quality of the product.<br>

Responsibilities will include test fixture assembly, operation, troubleshooting and maintenance.  The person holding this position will also be responsible for conducting tests based on written and verbal instructions and reporting on results.<br>

Testing will include the functional and reliability testing of products in a wide range of stages within the product development process.<br>

Key Position Accountabilities:<br>
* Perform mechanical, electrical and electronic work, including rework, diagnosis, repair, maintenance and fabrication of components and sub-assemblies for the Raytracker line of solar panel trackers.<br>
<br>
* Support assembly, rework and repair test equipment in order to facilitate on-going testing of the company’s products.<br>
<br>
* Maintain, operate and monitor ongoing tests and test equipment.<br>
<br>
* Clearly and concisely convey test results in verbal and written reports, both formally and informally.<br>
<br>
Required Skills:<br>
<br>
* Experience with light and medium duty DC and AC electrical circuits and wiring.<br>
* Ability to read and check mechanical drawings and electrical schematics. <br>
* Ability to follow written test plans<br>
* Must be able to demonstrate proficiency with basic small electro-mechanical tools (e.g. soldering (from circuit board through multi-amp wiring), multimeter, hand tools, drill press, welding, etc.). Be responsible for maintaining tools for own use and for department in good working condition and available.<br>
* Experienced with basic PC software tools (spreadsheet, word processor etc.).<br>
* Ability to lift 50lbs<br>
* Must be capable of working outdoors for extended periods<br>
* Initiative and ability to work with limited supervision.<br>
* Good communication skills, verbal and written.<br>
* Willingness to travel throughout Western US and Europe<br>
* 5+ years hands-on experience building and repairing electro-mechanical systems, including DC and AC motors, electronics, wiring, connectors, actuation systems, gearboxes, etc<br>
<br>
Desired Skills:<br>
* Experience with creating engineering change requests and working within a change control and configuration control environment. Ability to work with a web-based document control system (Arena)<br>
* Experience with heavy machine tools – mill, lathe, welder, etc.<br>
* Experience with thermocouples, load cells and data acquisition devices<br>
* Technical Associate Degree or equivalent experience preferred.<br>

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

- Must have a minimum of 8 years of diverse electro-mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment
<br>

<br>
- Must have functional English. Spanish a definite plus.
<br>

<br>
- Must understand hydraulic systems and be able to read schematics.
<br>

<br>
- Must have good understanding of electrical theory and be able to troubleshoot complex electrical systems.
<br>

<br>
- Must understand the operation of valves, pumps and cylinders, and how to repair them.
<br>

<br>
- Should be able to work overtime, including weekends and some holidays.
<br>

- Ability to work both shifts, a plus.
<br>

- High school graduate or GED
<br>

- Must be able to lift 25 pounds on a regular basis
