EXPERIENCE and REQUIREMENTS

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Work in lab and/or production area with other systems assembly and test personnel. Lab workbench and test equipment needed to perform the work will be provided by the company. Minimal hand tools required. Occasionally, some heavy lifting (i.e., less than or equal to 70 lbs) may be required.
· Design steam generator based electromechanical equipment, components, and related systems for commercial and industrial applications.
· Utilize individual and team effort to design sheet metal fabrications & machined components. Integrate designed components into assembly level system designs to support company products. Develop methods and procedures for testing company products.
· Working knowledge of sheet metal design & fabrication including cutting, forming, and welding on carbon & stainless steel materials is preferred. Working knowledge with ANSI 14.5 & AWS Standards is desirable.
· Working knowledge of ASME Boiler & pressure vessel code requirements is preferred. Knowledge of UL, ABS, Lloyds, & DNV agency requirements is desirable.
· Participates with manufacturing to insure company products are fabricated, assembled and tested in conformance with all applicable code requirements, company specifications, and customer requirements.
· Support field installation and commissioning of company products.
· It is required that the candidate be fluent in the use of basic engineering techniques & applications for mechanical design as well as the use of mechanical engineering and design software to model and analyze (thermal & mechanical stress and fluid flow) company products. It is preferable that the candidate has a strong working knowledge of PRO-E (PTC) 3-D solids modeling software.
Education and/or Experience: The minimum education level must include a completed Bachelor's degree (BSME) from an accredited four-year college or university within the United States. The experience level desired is a candidate with a minimum of ten years related experience. A Masters degree in mechanical engineering is highly desired and will be given preference over non-Master degreed candidates. Proficiency with 3-D solids modeling on current software is required.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to apply college level engineering mathematical concepts. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
Reasoning Ability: Candidate must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of engineering and non-engineering variables in situations where only limited information or product standardization exists. Ability to interpret & incorporate a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. The candidate must possess a fundamental common sense approach to problem solving and design.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, the individual should have excellent working knowledge of CADD & Analysis software. Candidates with extensive 3-D/Modeling experience, especially using PRO-E CADD software, will be given preference. The candidate must be Internet literate and proficient in Microsoft software including Word, Excel, & Access. It is preferable that the candidate have substantial experience with current MRPII software used in a Manufacturing environment.

UNUSUAL WORKING CONDITIONS
This position requires knowledge of and awareness of construction site hazards. Energy Innovations has two product lines intended to meet these strategic goals. In the short term, Energy Innovations is leveraging its knowledge of solar tracking to deliver a flat panel solar tracker. The RayTracker product line boosts the energy production of traditionally installed solar by up to 38%. In parallel, Energy Innovations is developing a next generation tracking concentrator system using next the generation of high efficiency cells.
The first product in Energy Innovations’ RayTracker product line is currently for sale. Optimization and refinement of this design are currently underway.
Position Purpose and Description:
The purpose of this position is to supplement testing capabilities of Energy Innovations’ System Development and Verification team. This organization owns the component and product level testing and verification within the RayTracker Business Group.
This position will be responsible for a wide gamut of testing responsibilities under the direction of the Test Engineer(s). Responsibilities will include test fixture assembly, operation, troubleshooting and maintenance. The person holding this position will also be responsible for conducting tests based on written and verbal instructions and reporting on results.
Testing will include the functional and reliability testing of products in a wide range of stages within the product development process.
Key Position Accountabilities:
* Perform mechanical, electrical and electronic work, including rework, diagnosis, repair, maintenance and fabrication of components and sub-assemblies for the Raytracker line of solar panel trackers.
* Support assembly, rework and repair test equipment in order to facilitate on-going testing of the company’s products.
* Maintain, operate and monitor ongoing tests and test equipment.
* Clearly and concisely convey test results in verbal and written reports, both formally and informally.
Required Skills:
* Experience with light and medium duty DC and AC electrical circuits and wiring.
* Ability to read and check mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
* Ability to follow written test plans
* Must be able to demonstrate proficiency with basic small electro-mechanical tools (e.g. soldering (from circuit board through multi-amp wiring), multimeter, hand tools, drill press, welding, etc.). Be responsible for maintaining tools for own use and for department in good working condition and available.
* Experienced with basic PC software tools (spreadsheet, word processor etc.).
* Ability to lift 50lbs
* Must be capable of working outdoors for extended periods
