You HAVE to know them and understand the mechanical psychology in order to get them just right. Be careful buying from private individuals or companies that sell ALL types of fitness equipment as your “good deal” may need excessive work AFTER you make your purchase. Finally, be cautious buying from obscure bike manufacturers and sellers of home version bikes as these bike types are typically NOT commercial grade. MY bikes are commercial grade, FULLY tuned. These bikes are ready to ride; they need nothing except a willing participant! I am the foremost authority on this AND most other bikes. The only bikes I would consider buying from e-bay or any other online avenue would be bikes that are A) Commercial grade. B) Bikes that have been completely refurbished by someone who understands the bike, is mechanically competent and who actually instructs or at the very least takes indoor cycling classes regularly. C) Buying the bike from someone who knows what the hell they are talking about. Just because you are buying a bike from a used fitness equipment company, doesn’t mean the bike is tuned properly, it also doesn’t mean that necessary parts have been replaced.
