Moog Inc. is a worldwide designer, manufacturer, and integrator of precision motion control products and systems. Moog’s high-performance systems control military and commercial aircraft, satellites and space vehicles, launch vehicles, missiles, industrial machinery, wind energy, marine applications, and medical equipment.
This position will have responsibility for the financial aspects of a $250MM+ line of business across three domestic sites, with additional operations overseas.
To be considered for this position, you must be a seasoned professional with a strong and stable background in manufacturing operations.
Ensure financial performance objectives are met by shipping products at their target cost. Large program packages (that are appearing more frequently) have long term pricing commitments and require a substantial amount of effort to make sure financial targets are met. The incumbent will be a key resource for the successful transition of major programs to production.
Accountabilities:
1. Monitor monthly financial and delivery performance against targets identifying variances and working with Site and Functional organization to drive improvements.
2. Coordinate periodic reviews of future customer delivery requirements with Moog business system information ensuring contractual obligations are being honored while minimizing risk to Moog.
3. Provide financial oversight of customer requests for credits or price reductions.
4. Establish metrics and reports that will provide early identification of potential areas of concern.
5. Establish baselines to measure and drive cost goals based on information generated in costing meetings.
6. Identify strategies/actions/activities, in conjunction with Functional Area and Program Managers and low cost manufacturing sites that can be taken to ensure projected production costs determined in the product definition phase of a program are in line with targets established in pricing meetings.
7. Identify variances between projected production costs and cost targets resulting from design changes, manufacturing costs, purchased content, etc. and ensure that actions are identified and taken by Functional Area and Program Managers and low cost manufacturing sites to reduce variance to the extent possible.
8. Ensure that long-term relationships with, and pricing from, vendors are aligned with Aircraft Group cost targets and vendor quotes provided in the proposal stage.
9. Through collaboration with the Manager of Strategic Sourcing and Purchasing, ensure that the Aircraft Group is maximizing its purchasing leverage when working with the supply base.
10. Design a monitoring process for projected production costs throughout the product definition phase of a program. With IT, ensure this process is as automated and accurate as possible. This would include automatically updating the system for Bills of Material changes as well as tracking projected costs driven by rate changes, manufacturing costs (procurement, fabrication, and assembly & test) as well as support efforts.
11. Continuously identify and make appropriate changes to the monitoring process based on the unique circumstances/challenges of different programs.
Requirements:
- BS Degree in Accounting or Finance
- CPA or MBA preferred
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong presentation skills
