Hiking Club in West LA (Westside)

I'm trying to start a group/club for day hiking in the Santa Monica mountains: Franklin Canyon, Sullivan, Mandeville, Rogers, Rivas, Rustic, Temescal, Los Liones, Malibu, etc. SMMC and Sierra Club have too few hikes and too little variety on the west side.
Hikes would be mostly 6-10 miles with 1,000-2,000 foot elevation gain at a net pace of roughly 2-1/2 MPH. Target would be to have at least 2 hikes each week, generally starting around 9:00. Most hikes take 3-5 hours. People interested should be able to maintain a moderate pace, own lug soles, carry the ten basics, be safety conscious, and and be pleasant. No whiners! People should want to hike at least 1/week. Members would share their favorite hikes, and be willing to lead from time to time.
I'm 65 (m,w, retired), and was one of the organizers seven years ago of a hiking club in the desert that now has over 500 members and does at least 40 hikes/month in season. Most hikes attract 8-15 people. Age, gender, orientation, status (marital, social, and financial), origin are all completely irrelevant! Just love nature and love to hike!
