Contemporary science maintains randomness as the explanation for the formation of the universe, and life generation, and evolution to more highly organized forms. No real evidence is presented for anything existing before the Big Bang. Thus, a strictly materialistic interpretation is that universe and life formation are a result of randomness "influencing" nothingness, a proposal which appears to be supernatural. Obviously there seems to be a need for a prime force, or matrix for a rational equation. In a thought experiment, if the formation of the universe is run backwards, there results a dimensionless point. Thus, formation should have occurred by transmutation of a precursor substance. The most likely candidate for that is consciousness which is little understood, but is ubiquitous, and subject to direct observation. Thus, consciousness, without dimensions as we know them, can be rationalized as undergoing transmutation to dimensionless energy with subsequent structuring of it to form the universe and life.
