Crowning Point Tutoring is currently seeking experienced tutors, teachers, and private instructors in the Los Angeles area. While we are hiring tutors in all locations, we are particularly looking for tutors who are able to teach in the Valley, including Chatsworth, Granada Hills, and Encino.

Crowning Point Tutoring is a small but growing company of highly qualified and skilled educators who work one-on-one and in small groups with students of all ages (from kindergarten through high school and beyond), in all subject areas, and in several standardized tests. Our students attend Harvard-Westlake, Brentwood, Oakwood, Marlborough, New Roads, Sierra Canyon, Windward, and other top public and private schools in the area.

We are specifically looking for dedicated tutors in the following subjects and standardized tests. Where AP is designated, you must have tutored the subject at the AP level to be considered for a position and have professional references who can vouch for your work in that area:

• AP Biology
• AP Chemistry
• AP Physics
• AP Spanish
• AP French (particularly in the Valley)
• AP Latin (particularly in the Valley)
• AP Calculus (BC) and Multi-Variable Calculus
• AP Statistics
• AP History—European, World, and US History
• AP Psychology
• SAT (must be able to teach ALL sections of the SAT. We prefer tutors who have taught the test to small groups in addition to one-on-one.)
• ACT (must be able to teach ALL sections of the ACT. We prefer tutors who have taught the test to small groups in addition to one-on-one.)
• ISEE (only hiring tutors available in the Valley)

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum of 3 years experience tutoring
- Commitment of at least six months (a year-long or long-term commitment is preferable)
- Schedule that allows you to commit to meeting with a student at the SAME time every week
- Great personality (enthusiasm, confidence, dedication, dependability, and flexibility)
- Excellent communication skills, ethics, and integrity
- Love to work with kids and/or teenagers
- Expertise with your grade level and/or subject areas tutored
- Reliable transportation and auto insurance
- Consistent internet access
- Go through and pass fingerprinting for criminal background check

Degrees from top universities, PhD or other graduate degrees, teaching experience in area private schools, and testimonials from previous students and parents are also a plus.

This is a part-time position, and tutoring generally occurs during the late afternoons, evenings, and occasionally on weekends. Most sessions are one-on-one and take place in the student’s home or in another mutually agreeable location (such as a café or library). We also receive requests for small group tutoring (maximum of 6 students) which also takes place at a location agreeable to the students and their parents.
