The MySpace.com Data Services team is responsible for data architecture, data infrastructure and operations for all MySpace.com data systems, including the MySpace Data Warehouse. The Data Warehouse Engineer will be a member of the Data Warehouse team. The candidate will be part of a team responsible for engineering processes for large scale distributed data systems and will also be responsible for leading and implementing raw data collection from various heterogeneous sources, data validation and preliminary filtering and transformations. This will include requirements gathering, working with very large data sets in a sensitive production environment, daily maintenance, monitoring, performance analysis, troubleshooting, problem resolution, data recovery and present and future capacity planning for all of the resources required of the ETL systems being managed.



Required Skills:

· Minimum 5 years hands on experience using PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, TeraData, Netezza or equivalent

· Minimum 3 years hands on experience writing SQL in a Data Warehouse environment

· Minimum 3 years hands on experience with ETL or ELT processes including designing and implementing processes involving large data sets (over 1TB)

· Solid understanding of relational database concepts and database architecture and design

· Good communication skills, with the ability to gather requirements and work with other groups

· Ability and willingness to keep up documentation for active projects

· Knowledge of Aster nCluster is a plus

The candidate needs to work well in a high pressure team environment with a strong focus on rapid response and real-time issue resolution
