We are seeking a senior level front-end developer for a 4 week onsite contract position.
This person must have a mastery of CSS driven layouts and JavaScript development with libraries such as JQuery, YUI, Prototype, etc...
Must have extensive experience taking designed PSDs and translating them into valid W3C code.
Cross-browser compatibility is a required for IE7+, Firefox 3+, and Safari 3+. IE6 may be required, so thorough knowledge of IE6 compatibility is very important.
You must be able to demonstrate your knowledge of the above by providing code samples and live URLs. No learning on the job, you must have actual experience with the requirements.
General
- Experience building presentation-layer for integration into CMS systems
- Ability to troubleshoot with cms engineer on best integrating the presentation-layer
- Working knowledge of server-side languages such as PHP, .NET, Ruby/Rails, Java
- Cross-browser compatibility for both XHTML/CSS Design Integrity AND JavaScript functionality
- Contract position is on-site at our location in the Westwood Area
- Ability to work independently
- Must report on a regular basis with status updates
- Must check-in all work into SVN repository daily w/ comments
- Ability to estimate timing on milestones
- Must be able to work as a team member and provide solutions when issues arise
- Commenting code AND presentation-layer documention will be required
XHTML/CSS
- Mastery of CSS driven layouts
- No inline CSS, must be abstracted into .css files
- Prefer that cross-browser functionality be achieved as elegantly as possible. Zero to limited "hacks" should be employed.
- Working knowledge of Web Accessibility Guidelines and 508 compliance
JavaScript
- Solid Knowledge of the DOM
- Working experience with a javascript framework such as JQuery
- Working experience with AJAX driven layouts
- JavaScript implementation must be unobtrusive in nature
