Right now, we’re hiring an Associate Software Engineer who will work on the design, development, and deployment of components for the Citysearch website. This technical resource will work with product managers, designers, and other software engineers to produce prototypes and final products.
The Associate Software Engineer reports to the Manager, Applications Development.
Responsibilities:
• Work with one or more server-side programming languages such as Java.
• Work with front-end web technologies such as HTML/XHTML, CSS, Javascript.
• Understanding of basic web application programming architectures, including the 3-tier model and the workings of HTTP, cookies, etc.
• Work with, or a strong desire to learn SQL, XML, Swing, AJAX, Hibernate, Struts, or Spring a plus.
• Work under the supervision of software engineers and development and product managers in the implementation and maintanence of components of the Citysearch website and back-end customer systems.
• Work with a variety of front-end and back-end Internet programming technologies including HTML, DHTML, AJAX, Java, PERL, Swing, Oracle, MySQL/Apache Lucene and various templating and content-management technologies.
• Work to develop a strong understanding of the business for the purpose of troubleshooting and enhancing Citysearch systems
Qualifications:
• Knowledge of object oriented programming language such as Java.
• Knowledge with SQL database querying with Oracle or MySQL a plus.
• Knowledge of XML a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from an accredited university.
