We are a private, non-profit organization that supports people with disabilities to live in their own homes and work and thrive in their communities. We have a part-time Community Support Worker position available in the Hawthorne/Lawndale area.
A CSW would work with an individual in their own home, supporting them through their daily or evening routines, helping them take medications, helping them buy groceries and make meals, helping them to do their laundry and other household chores, planning fun activities and keeping them connected to their community. This position would require someone with leadership skills who has experience working with adults with disabilities and who is reliable and empathetic. To be qualified for this position you must have the following:
1) At least ONE YEAR experience working with people with developmental disabilities - 2 or more is preferred.
2) No criminal history in the last 7 years (as evidenced by a livescan).
3) Reliable transportation and current car insurance.
4) CPR and First AID required upon hiring (we will provide certification training if you are not certified).
