Duties may vary depending on interests of the intern and activities of the office. We are a small office, so intern will be interacting with the staff and board of directors and have an opportunity to learn about the working of a small political non-profit. CCMC is the sponsor of an initiative that will appear on the June 2010 ballot, The California Fair Elections Act, that was placed on the ballot after our bill passed through the legislature and was signed by Governor Schwarzenegger. We are working with a coalition of good government groups to insure the success of the California Fair Elections Act in 2010. This internship would be a great opportunity to learn how a “Yes” initiative campaign is run in California.

Who We Are:

The California Clean Money Campaign (CCMC) is a non-profit, non-partisan political organization founded in 2001 to educate Californians about Clean Money, Fair Elections public financing of campaigns. Clean Money is an innovative and proven way to eliminate the unfair influence of Big Money on politics by providing voluntary public financing to change the way we finance election campaigns. It will get politicians out of the fundraising game so they can focus on the needs of the voters and allow new people with new ideas to run for office.

CCMC maintains a state office in Los Angeles and is governed by a volunteer board of directors. CCMC works on a grassroots basis, with members throughout California. We have active working groups of volunteers in both Northern and Southern California locales and a large statewide email list.

More information about the California Clean Money Campaign and the public financing solution can be found at our website, www.CAclean.org and also at the website for the California Fair Elections Act, www.YesFairElections.org.
