I am a young-for-her-age middle-aged working female looking for a roommate for my sunny 1700 sq. ft. duplex (ground floor)located near Olympic and La Cienega (what they call "Beverly Hills adjacent"). The building was built in 1931 and is beautiful and elegant. 2 bedrooms in unit, one large bathroom, hardwood floors, very large living room with working fireplace, in-unit laundry room & pantry, formal dining room (half of which I use for an office), breakfast nook, full kitchen, deck, fenced yard, wall-to-wall carpeting in bedrooms, standard white blinds on all windows, large walk-in closets. Sorry, only street parking is available. The bedroom I am offering is large, 16.5' x 12.5' (206.25 sq. ft.) and overlooks the back yard.
Important: I am an indoor cigarette smoker, so if this bothers you, please do not apply! If you have a pet, let's talk. I don't think it'll be a problem. I love animals (& have a small dog).
The apt. is now fully furnished (except for the back bedroom I am renting out), but if you have special furnishings you are attached to, we can discuss. The back bedroom is yours to furnish as you wish, top to bottom. If you need a double/queensize bed, a TV, a side table, & a DVD player, those are already in the room; if you want me to make way for your stuff, no problem! If you need modifications (like more shelving, sconces, etc.) done to your room, let me know; we can discuss.
The house is set up for high speed internet but not broadcast TV. Obviously, you are welcome to set that up with a local provider.
Oh! I have a terrific stereo system in the living room + speakers in the bathroom.
I like my solitude and hope you do, too. I am in the apt. every single day (when I'm not working -- in the weekday afternoons) and do not go on vacations, so I am a heavy user of the apt. I rarely have friends in and pretty much keep to myself, in my bedroom.
I sleep daily until 9 AM and would appreciate some noise consideration in that regard. If you like hip-hop music, that just wouldn't work out, as I cannot tolerate it (so sorry). I prefer smooth jazz and classic jazz singers. And total silence is great, too.
Please be self-sufficient, independent, responsible, relatively quiet, working, with good credit. Am looking ideally for a long-term roommate. Credit check, proof of income, first & last month's rent, references, + sublease and in-person interview required.
