Network Administrator/Database Administrator
Summary
• Network Administrator/Database Administrator with a minimum of 5 years of experience in developing, implementing and supporting corporate networks and databases, including Windows and Linux server environments, router/switch/failover systems, MS SQL/Oracle databases and technology planning initiatives. Role will provide technical services and training to internal and external stakeholders by performing the following duties. Relevant designations include MCITP, MCTS, MCA, MCSE/MCSA, MCDBA, CompTIA Network+, CCNA, CCDA, CCIE, CCDE, OCA, OCP, OCM.
BACHELOR'S DEGREE REQUIRED, preferably in Computer Sciences/Technology. Master's Degree a plus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as required.
• Network administration (including data backup/archiving/restoration, security management, user account management, e-mail systems including e-mail web server, internet access, office systems and applications support).
• Supports server, network and desktop hardware, software and applications.
• Administer and maintain servers and other systems, as needed.
• Manage, test and backup corporate databases
• Expert level experience in:
o MS-SQL databases and application development
o Stored procedures, query analyzers
o Building indices, tables and views
o Managing report generation and data integrity checks
o database clustering & performance tuning
o database security maintenance and enforcement0
• Participate in technical design discussions and planning meetings.
• Maintains excellent communication with management on all tasks and projects.
• Escalate issues adequately to management.
• Implement and oversee security Fundamentals/Best Practices
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of emerging server tools and technologies.
• Research, evaluate and recommend system technologies to support business requirements.
• Rigorously create and maintain documentation for all processes and procedures.
• Perform on-site and remote technical support.
• Lead, train and support the work of other staff engaged in similar functions
• Attend and actively participate in weekly meetings
• Ensure optimal deployment of technical and personnel resources.
• Plans, implements, and supports the network and computing infrastructure plan.
• Manage projects according to agreed upon budgets and schedules.
• Assists with technology planning through ongoing research.
• Identify and correct or advise, on operational issues related to computer systems.
• Participate in all required company, departmental, and team meetings and trainings.
• Observe and abide by all company, departmental, and team policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with the rest of the MIS team to meet the team objectives
• Perform light lifting 25lbs.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
